Pretty much the only new game at E3 I can muster the interest to care about, but I do care about this one quite a bit. As long as the combat is avoidable and not some huge component of the game, I'll buy this on Day 1, even if I do have to pay $60 and play it Origin.

there was an enemy with a gun in the trailer, but mostly it was batons. Hopefully there aren't too many guns and it's mostly batons. lithe asian girl can outrun batons.

I hope they use popo as a incentive to keep you moving forward rather than enemies you need to defeat in order to progress. Being under fire from helicopters or snipers in ME1, or having guards without guns chase after you did this nicely.

I got stuck in one level and could not find my way out, even after giving up (pretty quickly, because combat pissed me off so fucking much) and looking at a gameFAQ on it. Fuck this game.

yeah i didn't got the 1000/1000 but i did got the achievement for not shooting anyone and i can't remember for shit how the heck i did for the last level cause there were 2 guards that would shoot you as soon as you pounced on one of them... i think something stupid involving getting seen and hiding in some corner and taking all of them one on one

by the way,mirror's edge was not a bad game but it wasn't that good either,it was an ok game so i don't understand why you guys care for a sequel

Good and refreshing can be more interesting to play than very well made but same old for the nth time. And while a sequel obviously isn't as fresh as an original game with a new idea, the type of gameplay from Mirror Edge is still rare enough to make a sequel worthwhile.

ME was fricken great outside the server room. Incredibly replayable and it looks insanely good on PC. Which is probably why this doesn't look visually much better outside shiny gloss/reflections everywhere.

This sequel will depend entirely on if they try to ramp up the combat to appeal to more dudebros or whether they lessen the combat to actually make it a better game.

Honestly, I didn't care for the time trials. The pakour was the star of the show for me. If Mirror's Edge 2 has a sandbox/practice/time-less mode where I can dick around for hours...

That's not really the point. You had a big area with very little cover with pretty high damage rate enemies and one of them carrying an LMG. While yes it's possible it's a little annoying to nail that since it's so inconsistent to nail that run to get past them.

IIRC you can get past that section with no disarms but on Hard unless you saved your slow mo and nailed the slide past the LMG dude you'd probably die.

Not that story matters at all in a game like this, but didn't the first game's story end in a "oh crap, we discovered the real badguy!!!--TO BE CONTINUED" way?

Considering it took them THIS long to get a greenlight to make another ME, and the likelihood that this will bomb too and they won't get a 3rd chance, wouldn't it make more sense to continue and conclude the story of ME1? Or are they just figuring that story sucked, so fuck it, let's just do a 1 shot origin tale instead?

Not really, the ending pretty much wrapped up all the plot threads, though it was still a bit open-ended, I guess.
