The only blunder was PS+ being required for online play.

No clue what Sony was thinking, especially since they could add the cloud streaming features as a future bullet point.

I just realized, the only EA game I have ever bought is fucking URBZ and have never purchased anything from activision or Ubisoft, so unless some of the smaller western publishers and some japanese companies decide to be dicks, the drm shit won't affect me in the least.

The greatest dodge is that they get to let MS test the waters doing everything they wanted to try but didn't have the balls for and come the generation after will adopt DRM and no used games because MS will do just fine regardless of internet bitching, and by the gen after it will just be standard stuff everyone is use to; like paying for online multiplayer.

Going from playing Xbox almost exclusively for two gens to probably buying a PS4 at launch and never buying an Xbone. Nice job MS.

Nah, you'd have to be pretty damned out of touch to think MS is going to do just fine, now. They're fucked.

MS fucks up all the time. The first xbox was super expensive as well with a quick price drop. 360 had a recall and a shitton of console deaths. They will though money at the problem like always. Remember MS has been gunning for the living room experience for a long time, it not here yet but they are getting closer, and they will just wait it out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to revise some of their policies. One of their recently released statements, clearly motivated by then creeping panic, stated they're subject to change in order to adapt to the market.

The only thing that concerns me after those ballsy statements and videos is that there's no coming back from this. If they hasn't so much as fine print regarding used games and DRM they will be gutted.
