EA supported online game servers for two years?  That's awful!

Whoa, shit, wtf? Imagine how many more sales Madden 06 would have had if Madden 05 didn't still have online play.

You screwed yourself EA. You only have yourself to blame. Hopefully, they will come to their senses and remove Online play from Madden 06 and make Madden 07 the only Madden online game.

Or how about just MADDEN ONLINE and then charge for new roster / graphical updates every so often?

Being made by EA I am suprised they kept the online play in for that long. If you look on the back of the Madden cases it says EA can remove online servers anytime starting August of the next year.

I think it would be reasonable if they supported online multiplayer only for a year on their sports games.
