There's stupid and then there's fucking stupid; MS has reached the latter in ways I never imagined. When was the last time you heard an exec respond to critical questions by saying "we'll, buy our old product instead?" I understand selling a new premium product demands you differentiate it from the competition...but this is a gaming console, not a fucking Maybach.

At first I thought the dudebros would prevail, but after E3 I'm convinced this is going to fail and might be the last Xbox.

One of the funnier things that leads to bad predictions is assuming too much competence. 

Like, I see people defending the One by saying "Well, they're a huge company, they must have run their numbers and demographics and are sure this will work out" and it's like, yeah, I remember people saying that about the $599 PS3.  If big companies were infallible, no products would fail, but most do, so I think we ought to assume if it appears a company doesn't know what they're doing, they probably *don't*.
