She asks if I feel different now after having sex for the first time and I told her "Totally. I feel like a whole new world has opened up for me." or something along those lines.

Sony Computer Entertainment released a new PS3 firmware update on June 19 that was meant to address system stability and introduce new Trophy notification options for PS3 users. While some have been fortunate enough to download PS3 firmware 4.45 without issues, many PS3 owners have encountered system crashing bugs.If you have not yet downloaded or installed PS3 firmware 4.45, your PS3 is safe. Sony Computer Entertainment has removed PS3 firmware 4.45 from the PlayStation 3 firmware servers and rolled back to PS3 firmware 4.41.You can use your PS3 without fear of accidentally installing the crippling PS4 4.45 firmware.Issues with the latest PS3 firmware were first spotted on the Official PlayStation Forums where numerous users began reporting problems with their PS3s following the firmware update -- most being locked out of their systems.Likewise, people went to Twitter to find information as to why their PS3 froze after downloading the latest firmware.Early information suggests that PS3 users with a third-party hard-drive up to 1TB in size are experiencing the problems.Sony has not yet released an official statement regarding PS3 firmware 4.45.
Do they actually fix it, or do they just send you a refurb?
Mine got bricked. 2 support reps on the phone said it'll be $100 to fix it.
stability update
Is it TOTALLY bricking them? Not even bootable to recovery mode?$100 my arse - this is the perfect excuse for persistent phone rage. Might even get a better unit out of it if you rage hard enough.

They both just said that since it's out of warranty I'd need to send it in for service. It's $99 and I have to cover shipping too. That's bullshit, especially with how many people this bricked.
Did anyone get the update pushed out via PS+? I checked this morning and mine is still on the previous firmware still.

Please keep us posted. This sounds like lawsuit material to me. Also, if a firmware patch bricked a 360, and the user was paying for Gold, which requires the latest firmware, you can bet ms would be fixing it rather than facing a class-action suit.

Couple years ago they slipped that adorable proviso into their TOS where you waive your right to join cases. This would have to be Manabyte on his own against Sony. I suspect he'll pay the $99, thank them, buy a PS4, and still shill for them.
Yeah, I don't endorse that particular addition to the TOS, and in fact I warned people about it when they put it in, but something tells me Manabyte didn't have much of a problem with it at the time.
You'll have to forgive me if I don't trust American courts to come down on the side of the consumer.

I dunno, American Tort law seems pretty focused on awarding damages almost whimsically. It's one of the reasons there was so much lobbying by SIGs over the past few years to try and and hobble Tort law so they'd be less susceptible to being slain by the proverbial Davids of the world. Though, you're right, all findings on copyright and its ilk have seemed to come down on the side of corporations, not the freedoms of individuals.
