when we first started dating, i forced my gf to read all of his short stories.
i have read literally all of his fiction (including the two recent short stories he'd published and the weird deliverance riff with savage man on man anal rape)
even when it was TERRIBLE (sup, Earthbound) it was still wildly entertaining
and Hell House contains what I consider to be one of the most fucked up frightening passages ever in a horror novel

One of my absolute favorite authors.

If nothing else, people should track down the original Kolchak The Night Stalker movie and give that a watch in tribute
