It seems like it would be best to save your cards and badges.  Like some special fellow in two years will pay ridiculous amounts of money for a Steam Summer Sale 2013 badge to complete his collection.

Badges are account bound.  You can just buy one of each of the cards necessary to craft the badge, though.

You'd feel pretty silly though if Valve made all the sale cards disappear after the sale was over.

I hope Tomb Raider comes back on the last day, I'll pull the trigger this time.

So far I've got Bastion, Deus Ex HR, The Last Remnant, and System Shock 2.

I'd like Sleeping Dogs to come back and Mafia 2 to go on sale.

Is this the first time an unfinished game has been a summer sale of the day? Referring to Starforge, which looks like Minecraft but with graphics.

Fuck, I'm done.  Spent $70 that I really shouldn't have on a bunch of dumb shit that I'm going to have to make myself play.  (number is misleading, as I spent $30+ on gifts for other people, but whatever.  I also got some stuff back in return, so it evens out.)

Last day of the sale is here, and they've brought back a bunch of previous deals.  Dishonored and Borderlands 2 are 10.19, Tomb Raider 12.50, etc.

So I'm assuming today and tomorrow are just "best of" recaps?  So unless you get a flash deal, might as well buy all the cheap indie stuff now.

Trying to not fall into the temptation that is Bioshock Infinite.  I've got like a half dozen AAA games (DmC, Batman AC, Binary Domain, Dishonered, Borderlands 2, etc...) I can play between now and winter sale when it'll probably be cheaper, but I love Bioshock (even really enjoyed Bioshock 2!) and it's temptinggggggg.  The art direction is so nice looking.

What is it, $30?  I think with your taste, you'd probably enjoy it.  I still say that about $20-30 is right for that game.

Spent about $150-ish I think.  Then another $50-100 on gifting friends.  I'm definitely good on PC games until the new years ;)

All I got was Devil May Cry 4 for $5, and it's kinda surprising how well that game still holds up. Even though I really enjoyed Ninja Theory's take, there's this sense of mathematical precision in 4's combat that just isn't present in DmC. Even with Nero's limited stable of combos, I'm having way more fun.

I really adored the fit and finish of DmC, but both the combat and level design doesn't hold a candle to the previous games. I especially love the way that DMC4 still clearly has a bit of that Resident Evil DNA in it. Fixed camera :heartbeat

I bought more than I thought I would (includes gifts):

Castle Crashers
Crysis Collection (Crysis + Warhead + Wars)
Doom 3: BFG Edition
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams
Grid 2
Half Minute Hero
Half Life Collection
The Last Remnant
Mark of the Ninja
Penny Arcade blah blah blah 3
Penny Arcade blah blah blah 4
Rogue Legacy aka Rouge Legacy
Sleeping Dogs
Terraria
Tomb Raider
You Need a Budget

I gave out a bunch of games as gifts too so the total is about $200.  I give no fucks.

The big improvement for me this year over last year is that I bought games I actually want to play.  Last year I just bought shit that had 66-75 percent price reductions, not knowing or caring if I was going to get around to playing these games.  As a result I bought a bunch of RTS games, games that I never have time to get around to.

Eh the no resale thing plus the ever present possibility of valve axing your account have to be considered DRM. But overall its a great service and app. It definitely needs an aesthetic retool though. Navigating through steam could be better

Yeah Steam as software blows.

Well it is sluggish and there are a dozen of issues left that are obviously low priority, like assigning games to categories one by one. At least we can limit download speeds now.

Aside from the dull driving parts that never justified their inclusion, RAGE is a really great shooter.

Here's what I got this sale:

Starforge
Dishonored - Knife of Dunwall
Strike Suit Zero
Fallout 3 GOTY
Sacred Gold
System Shock 2
I Am Alive
Don't Starve
