• The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC and PS3)
• Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (my PS2 destroyed my first copy)

The games I listed are all originals but I guess I cheated on Serious Sam First and Second Encounter by adding the HD versions to the list, I have no issue if you want to count remakes.

I never really do this unless the rerelease has some extra content or something.partly coz it feels like a rip off, and partly because I still own a lot of my old games, and the ones I don't are ready to emulate.

I did buy left 4 dead 2 twice tho so I could play the nice pc version myself and the 360 version with friends.

The game is busted ass but modded, it's pretty good.

Ocarina of Time.  N64, two version on Gamecube (both 'free'), Wii virtual console, and 3DS.

That I paid for, probably MGS2 and 3.  I gave up with the 3DS and Vita games or else it'd be more; MGS2/3+Substance/Subsistence+Essential+HD.

GTA4 is the most shame worthy.  PS3 first, sold for 360 version to play DLC, sold and then bought PC version during Steam sale for mods.

Legend of Zelda 1 and 2: nes, gba, gc zelda disc, 3ds eshop

I really mostly only double dip on games that have re-releases.

I haven't bought MGS HD collection, but when I get the Essential collection it'll be the third time buying MGS1-3.

GTA1 and 2 - pc (TWICE), and psx.

GTA3 - ps2, xbox, pc, android

Vice City - ps2, xbox, pc, android

San Andreas - ps2, xbox, xbox 360, pc.

Gta Chinatown Wars - ds, psp, ios.

I've owned Pscyhonauts across every single platform it's available on. Bought it at launch for ps2, got it for xbox later on, then dled the 360 version on xbl, and got it on steam later on.

Games I've double dipped that are basically the same game though and not a re-release? Much smaller. Games like Skyrim (360 and pc), SSX3 (ps2 and xbox), The Warriors (ps2 and xbox) are notables.

I just bought Trails of the Sky SC for the 2nd time this morning at full $60 price :|

Been playing the series on psp, but learned you could share saves back and forth with nicer looking ps3 version so gonna give it a shot.

I'm surprised this thread isn't dominated by Capcom games, but looking at my responses, its not either.  Hmmm.

Crazy Taxi
Resident Evil 2 and 4
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3
Hitman 2
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

all triple dips.

Yeah, they released FC, SC, and The Third (basically the whole Trials in the Sky trilogy) on PS3.  They're the PC versions with trophies, the added content of the PSP versions (like voices), and widescreen graphics.  You can use one save file between the PSP and PS3 version and go back and forth.  Sounds kind of cool to me because I tend to play rpgs on the go so I prefer PSP, but if I'm just sitting around playing it I might as well play it with better graphics on big TV.

Final Fantasy IV iphone/android is the ds remake? Shit, looks like I'll be getting that game again. WHAT IS IT ABOUT FINAL FANTASY IV?!?!

Sounds great. Love the ds version, but if I wanna play 3d FFIV, I don't want to have to go through the ds version again. Fun for the first time, but seems it'd be annoying on later difficulties, particularly the moon.

I'd a while listing everything so instead I'm just going to do this:

Final Fantasy 4: SNES, SFC, SFC Easy Type, PSX, JP PSX, Wonderswan Crystal, GBA US, GBA EU, GBA JP, DS, DS JP, PSP, iPhone

God I have a problem.

now the real question is - how many of those have you finished?

Games I would shamelessly rebuy each console generation/distribution platform (and at times, have done so):

Resident Evil 4

Super Mario Galaxy 1/2

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire

Mega Man X

Super Mario World

Yoshi's Island

A Link to the Past

Wind Waker

Twilight Princess

The Evil Within

Any House of the Dead game or compilation

Oddly the only thing I have twice that I can recall offhand is X and x-2 on ps2 and then I have the HD remasters on PC via getting a card for there for xmas one time. I'd double on SMG if they did a collection, still never played 2, and would also be up for the 3D Zelda remasters that showed up on Wii U coming over to N's current platform.

Double dips are too many to count, mostly because of delayed PC ports;  but the worst offender is probably Bayonetta 1: 360, WiiU, PC and will buy again on Switch when i get one.
Resident Evil 4 is another one.

Also when the remaster comes out, Final Fantasy VIII will be another big offender (Ps1, Ps3, PC, PC again).
