Everything about this movie is just so fantastic, and the Bluray version looks great. -The scenes with the detectives just making their way through the old parts of Tokyo -The ensemble cast and camaraderie between them. -Kenji Kawai's superb soundtrack:VIDEO VIDEO -The way the whole movie is steeped in a technological mystery -The themes of tradition versus progress, old versus new. -Some really detailed 2D animation, especially in the last few scenes There's just something about the way late-80's/early-90's feels that probably won't ever be replicated. It's been a while since I've seen Patlabor the Movie, but I probably appreciate much more now than I ever did before [and I certainly didn't dislike it before].
