Wii U exclusive could be good too tho.

I'm really hoping a more traditional Persona take ala P2. No slinks. It should have a relationship dynamic that affects endings and gameplay (ala Catherine) but not be in your face about leveling up your relationship with people.

No more multi-floored dungeon crawling THAT'S THE SAME DUNGEON ala Tartaros. Give us structured dungeons that made SMT3/DDS' dungeons so great.

Here's hoping the games school setting is college, so it stars adults. If not that, make the cast mostly late 20's/middle aged ala Eternal Punishment.

Bring back the horror, suspense, and mystery.

Persona 4 touched on it and gave it P2EP vibes, but it wasn't enough. It ultimately felt like Scooby Doo.

Since Kaneko didn't do SMTIV designs, it's reasonable he's kept busy with Persona 5.

- NO SOEJIMA. KANEKO ONLY.

- Bring back multiple renditions of the Velvet Room music please.

- BRING BACK NEGOTIATIONS AND RUMORS. Persona 1/2 are unique to SMT in that they had the most fleshed out negotiation systems. EXPAND ON THIS. Fuck tarot cards.

God I love Persona.  :lawd

I think it can go two ways:

either they embrace new Persona (as seen by Persona 4A) or they go along with Catherine route and touch on more adult subject matter.

Given that Catherine sold decently, I'd imagine that they can do whatever they want at this point within reason and it'll still be a success for them but that depends on the games budget.

I really want them to go the Catherine route and seeing as how that's by the Persona team, I really think it's a hint as to what we should expect.

I expect P5 to be very much in the manner of P4, right down to its relative choice of platform.

I would prefer PC > PS4/X1 > PS3/360 > Wii U > Vita > PS2 > 3DS > PSP > NDS, or basically, in order of power.

This coming exlusively to next-gen gameboxes would be the only reason for me to buy one, and that's a costly endeavor for just one game. Still have a 360 stashed somewhere, so that's what I'm hoping for.

Also hoping for more Scooby Doo and quirky teenz and Power of Friendship. Which is good, because that's exactly what we're getting.

2's wasn't as bad as 1's negotiation system but it was extremely tedious. The shuffle time P3/P4 had was much faster for fusing Personae by grabbing trash cards and then using them to get what you want. The only benefit of P2's system was being able to dial the exact Persona you wanted with those tarot cards you hate. That's it. Had nothing to do with the badly done Negotiation system.

I prefer negotiation to shuffle time. I think any smt with demon collection should have negotiation. Bring back negotiations but make it less tedious. Follow Raidou 2's example for negotiations. They should feel fluid and interactive. But yes, DO bring back rumors.

Not really. These are WISHES.

I didn't have a problem with p3/p4 despite being radically diff from P2 unlike the other fans, and I won't have a problem if they stick with the p3 formula because I actually love it, and it's been five years since P4 anyways.

win/win for me by virtue of being P5.

Because that spin off is (unfortunately) more popular than the main series.

I mean this is obvious.

Also they were having financial troubles. Atlus financial issues is nothing new and you're talking about Index?  From two weeks ago? They've had P5 in the oven for a while Magus.

I never understood people who want to play really long-ass RPGs on a handheld. Personally, I can't play portables for more than 2 hours without my hands cramping and my eyes hurting from looking at a tiny screen. Not to mention, there is no public transportation where I live (apart from the LIRR but I prefer to drive to the city than take the train) so I'm usually at home, where I have a big screen TV to play on.

PS4 would be the ideal for a P5. I don't care if it's more like 1/2 or more like 3/4. As long as it has a turn-based system and some awesome music I'm in.

I wouldn't mind playing a new Persona game.  FES and 4 were both really good, and the :uguu stereotypical shit that always rears it's heads in jrpgs wasn't *that* offensive imo.

Only way I'll end up getting to play it if it's coming out in the next year would be if it was a PS3 release though, and from the sound of things I'm guessing it will be a next gen affair.  (note that this excludes the Weeeeoooooo by definition, ntards.  Besides, none of you have ever played Persona games before and you're only excited about SMT4 because you're predictably shitty people who will lavish praise on 3rd party games that are n-exclusive.)

Yeah, I 100% agree.  I just don't like handhelds anymore, man.  I used to be able to play rpgs on them but eeeehhhhhhhhh not anymore.  It was really jarring after playing the preceding two Fire Emblem games on consoles to try to go back and play the latest on a handheld.  Couldn't finish it.

Yeah I've played both Persona 2 games and P1 and well, yeah that's kind of the last thing I want to come back. Demon negotiations were pretty dumb and not fun. I far more enjoy s links and the school stuff. If anything, I want more wrpg type dialogue trees in those areas. Make them more involved.

I guess the tone of two was a bit more interesting, but I honestly don't care. I don't play these games for the stories and all the occult stuff does nothing for me but make weird wallpaper in the background. I kind of just like the relatable characters and right now the school stuff serves that purpose pretty well. Atlus has of course shown that they can make tolerable characters and school drama that dosen't offend me like most anime, so I mean it would be cool for them to say tackle college or older characters again, but hey if they don't, no real loss.

]Why? Are you not planning to get a next-gen system?

Yeah, but anything could happen before I get one. If it's on current gen systems, well I already have one of those. And I still like playing my PS3, it's not going anywhere. It would be nice to take it out with a bang like 4 did with the PS2.

I want a mix of P2 and P3 style game play.

But in a way, slinks ARE demon negotiations but with humans. The problem is that is is impossible to fail an slink advance because the choices are obvious. Make the game more unpredictable if you go with slinks.

Small screen, necessarily shittier tech than a console (especially if it's a Nintendo handheld) and hands cramping.  I can lounge back in my recliner to play a turn based rpg on a console without squinting at a screen or having my hands cramp.

Plus, and this is probably just my slightly spergtastic self talking, but I have to be in the mood to play games.  I never really feel the urge when I'm out and about in society- when that's the case, I'm dealing with suppressing the urge to murder people for all of the stupid shit they do.  Lounging back in my recliner or office chair in comfy clothes where I know for sure I'm not going to suddenly have to deal with someone else's stupidity is when I'm happiest to game.

Mainly because it's easier to multitask.  I can have it on my desk next to my keyboard, easily switching between working and playing.  And it's stuff like sleep mode on the vita/3ds, being able to stop and start wherever.  It's more about the convenience portables provide than the portability.  I mean, I have an iphone if I wanted to play games outside.

Again, it's not just portables.  If I could play it in a side window on my PC, that would be great too.  Consoles can't really handle games you play for 5-10 minutes at a time, which is how I can get through these games.

You can, but if I'm out I'm out at a bar with friends, or at a dance party, or out to eat with the woman... not really the kinds of places you'd break out a handheld to play a long in-depth game.

Plane rides are great for them (car rides I can't do - I get carsick :P ). I don't travel that often either but have a 6 hour layover in Dulles to look forward to in a few weeks, so that's when I'll be focusing on SMT4 (or probably Soul Hackers since I didn't open that yet).

Seems we play games in very similar ways. If I'm playing an RPG I would want to set a block of time for it, at least 2 hours long (usually weekend afternoons or a particularly slow weeknight are good), free from any distraction. I also am one of the few people who don't break out their phone in public constantly to dick around on it...

Tiesto of course you wouldn't break out the 3ds during a date or at a party. But on the other hand you wouldn't be playing your console either. :what I'm not seeing your point. Hand held are good during down times at work. I play AC during my lunch break. If I took the bus I'd probably have even more opportunity to play it on the go as well. Being handheld doesn't mean you can or should play it during all occasions, it just makes it easier TO play it. :what

Eh, yeah I just fundamentally play games different than you guys I guess.  The only "bite size" gaming experiences I enjoy are Puzzle and Dragon, and Puzzle and Dragon.  I don't like multi-tasking because I have to do it so much for work, and it's stressful.  When I play a game, I want to just play the game and not worry about other shit.

No, that's how I normally play games.  JRPGs are just a special case for me.  And not all JRPG.  Mainly turn based, slower paced JRPG.  I don't want to play a Tales game on a portable (redundant).

I've got a DS and a PSP, but I really dislike handheld gaming. My interest in titles tends to decrease when it's revealed they're handheld only.

The last handheld game I played through to the end was FFVII Crisis Core. As great as KH is, I just get bored playing it on a tiny screen.
