It's clearer and more sharp, but that's it.

Negatives? Worse character models, their skintones lack a tan, the entire color palette has lots all of its warmth, when I look at Yuna's face my brain immediately freezes and says,"that's not Yuna", Tidus' new face model looks TOO much like Nomura and I swear the hd version has worse jaggies in this video.

The biggest hit is that the characters have worse facial expressions. Is it due to lack of emotion engine?

Also the new font for the logo in the intro is shit in comparison to the originals classy logo.

The lighter skin is intentional. One of the included extras is an island in the Al Bhed region where you can achieve various degrees of tan.

I mentioned the lighting and lack of warm colors in the post, and it looks way worse. That is a terrible scene to try and convince people that the game looks better.

The most jarring thing are the subtleties especially at the end when Tidus' faces are side by side. Look at the blink of his eye. The sd version has more subtle movements and animation. The hd version looks like someone punched him in the eye when he blinks.

They all look like something between generic MMORPG models from the middle 00's and a companion doll.
And they had that tanned skin which fitted in with its caribbean/south-east asian theme.

It looks like nobody at S-E gives a fuck for the original design.

Look guys, it's okay to admit that the cell is worse than emotion engine. ps3 just can't accurately emulate it, so Square Enix had to go back and remodel the characters. It's totally understandable and I cannot blame them.

It is the worst of the 3d FF's aside from FF13.

Rock paper scissors battles that you use from hour 2 all the way down to the final hour, a linear character progression system which doesn't allow you to customize character trajectory until well into the late hours of the game, the same fucking monsters over and over (tidus -> dog, auron -> shell thing, lulu -> flan, yuna -> giant monster, rikku -> treasure chest, wakka -> cyclops). Not to mention the WORST side quests in the series.

The biggest compliment I can give X is its story, world, and characters. Brimming with personality and passion.

X-2 makes X its bitch. X is definitely near the bottom, the only ones I think are worse are II, maybe III (though III nes gives it a run for its money), and XIII.
