I'm interested in it, though I probably won't buy it right away.

Edit: This is a Kickstarted game, by the way.

Yeah, it seems more akin to being a Mega Man style platformer.  Or maybe a fusion of that and Bionic Commando, with a Metal Slug rip-off theme.

i've found a :pirate version and i decided to try it... so... have you ever tried the neo-geo pocket version of metal slug? that's what this game reminds me,basicaly it works like this... you start the game at a camp where you can buy upgrade, make new piece's for your gun with the loot you find (yes enemies in this game drop loot) and buy items to consume on the field, then you pick a mission and you have to get to your objective, each map is pretty big and has multiple road to get to your objective... the first boss i fought actualy left in the middle of the fight and i had to track him to another point of the map to continue the fight! :lol

but otherwise it controls exactly like metal slug (well there is a roll button i guess) so it's metal slug with no doubt... unlike metal slug there aren't a lot of bullets flying around or enemies, your character is also quite sturdy and can be hit multiple times, even when you are close to die you can use a medikit to get back to full health and dying just give you a money penality and send you back to the nearest infirmary so it's really really easy

some missions take place in level you already cleared and are pretty MMO like "kill 8 snipers!" "find 10 piece of lead!" and don't even require you to get to the end of the level, after clearing enough of them you advance in rank and i guess you get more missions,i still haven't done enough to see what happens

it's not bad,the sprite looks great and there is enough action variety (the music is a little repetitive though) but it's probably too easy for a metal slug afecionado, the worst thing i can say are the keyboard controls, being an alpha version of the game you can't rebind them and you are forced to use WASD for movement, jump with K and shoot with N,what the heck? why aren't the jump and shoot button even on the same line of keys! >:(
but i think the game support the 360 controller because the thing is everywhere

Visually, sure.

basicaly it's sort of like PSO/Monster Hunter meets metal slug, there is even co-op

Looks like a 2D Borderlands and perfect Steam sale fodder.

The game play is a bit stiff and it was pretty buggy for me.  I had problems getting a game started using a controller and with exiting out of the game.

Well, it is an early release so hopefully that means some bug fixes in addition to the remaining stages left to be added.

i cleared the first rank (the final mission was to defeat the first boss again but this time i had to capture him by throwing stun grenade at him) after finishing it,i got a new set of mission and they all happen on the same new map, even if it's the same map they all happen in different part of it so it's cool, the first one asked me to get to the end,the second one made me go underground and the third asked me to clear all the enemy inside the tower on the west

you unlock more gun parts to build and skill to buy after ranking up,some of the gun parts are really goofy looking,i can build a toilet gun right now :lol
i've got motionjoy installed and using a joypad makes a world of difference, didn't have lot of trouble setting it up using a ps3 controller
