It took until two days after the sale, but The Gaben finally decided to give us a decent Kentucky Route Zero sale ($12.50) and on the same day as Episode 1 of The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief hits. So as soon as I get home from work, it's gonna be on like Donkey Kong.

Buy KR0 people. It's a visually fantastic, fascinating, original adventure game. The worst part is the wait between episodes.

I guess I'll check out The Raven at some point.

I'd buy it but not for 12 euro.

I was playing The Raven this afternoon, and it was all fun and games until this happened:

Caught a piece of geometry, infinitely walking towards a pot of coffee, with no way to cancel the action or even quit the game other than just ending the process. :-\ But man, if you could only hear the music that was playing during the scene, it would be a million times funnier.  :lol

Other than that, it was a decent game. Really easy, but that's par for the course with modern adventure games. Graphics had a cartoony look like the TellTale games, but a little bit better (not much though). Music and voice acting was okay. I liked the main character, he's kind of like a Hercule Periot if he never made his big break, and was just a constable doing boring police work into his 50's, looking for his one chance at glory.

I saw this Raven game on Steam and hoped someone bought it.

Reminds me a bit of Largo Winch

I beat The Raven Episode 1, but apparently I got the crap ending.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
It ends with you getting abruptly knocked unconsciousness.

According to the achievement list, there's 3 endings; Amateur, Advanced, and Master. It said I found 7 secrets, which was only enough for Amateur. I dunno how many secrets there are or what the secrets even were, but I guess if you find more you get a better ending. Kinda bullshit since it's episodic, how are supposed to know what's going in in Episode 2 if you get the crap ending of Episode 1 (since I doubt the crap ending carries over to the next episode)? Unless all three endings are actually same. I dunno, I'll just wait for a guide to play it again, or Youtube the good ending or whatever.

Also I ran into two more game-stopping bugs after the one above, so save a lot.

The bugs are really unfortunate. Last adventure game I played that was kind of shoddy was Ceville, which was barely worth the trouble. Unwritten Tales was rock solid.
