The typically developing boys were big into first-person shooter and sports games. But the boys with autism or ADHD were more likely to choose action games or single player role-playing games

Boys with autism spectrum disorders or with ADHD are both prone to problematic use of video games, according to a study.

The researchers asked the parents of boys ages 8 to 18 to report on their child's video game use, including hours of use and the types of games they play.

The boys with autism spectrum disorders spent twice as much time playing video games as did the typical boys, two hours a day compared to one. The boys with ADHD played 1.7 hours a day on average. That means that the boys with autism or ADHD were reaching the maximum two hours a day for screen time set by the American Academy of Pediatrics, before adding in TV or other screen use.

Earlier studies of children with ADHD or autism also have found increased use of video games, but this is the first study to compare the two with typically developing children.

FPS = multiplayer
Action = single player

OP is basically saying people who play games with other people are more likely to socialize with other people and thus more likely to get have intimate relations with other people.

That would make sense, yeah, but according to the article the researchers pin it on the fact that FPS are too busy and visually overwhelming, whereas action games...aren't, I suppose? I guess the article might have just omitted the multiplayer aspect, but it seems weird that they didn't talk about it now that you mention it.
That said, multiplayer in FPS isn't all that social to begin with, but maybe that's enough to sour the experience anyway. Or it isn't and that's why it's not in the article. Hm.

PES is fucking terrible now. FIFA, on the other hand, has been fantastic lately.

Yes, PES is horrible thats why I stopped playing it after PES5 and that was being generous because it peaked at 3. My problem isnt people playing FIFA it's cockmonglers that never played PES when it was clearly the best football game, instead they played broken ass FIFA because hey, they could select Michael Owen.

Fuck that broken game, it was terrible from 96 all the way through to about 6 years ago.

EDIT: It should be noted i am referring to crpg's like say witcher and less to jrpgs like final fantasy which has very little in the way of choice and consequences.

I think multiplayer games make you think FAST and react QUICK.

Both things that autistic people seem to have trouble with because of omg sensor overload, hence the their preference of spreadsheets and thinking two hours if thay extra skill point in dexterty is worth it.

The thing is thought that to really maximize your score in Bulletstorm you often have to cleverly use the environment and your gadgets to get the highest you can. You're trying to be clever magus, but Bulletstorm is genuinely more cerebral than the drab menu browsing pedo garbage you subject yourself to day in day out.

Depends what you mean by thinking, if you have to consider the long term implications of what you are doing unless you like reloading again and again, shooters dont have them in general.  There is of course fallout 3, though the dialogue choices were relatively shit and Mass Effect games.  As for multiplayer shooters like CoD, id still argue there is very little thinking going on.  It is all about twitch reflexes mostly, my friend who goes 40-0 in it says as much, he says he is just in the zone and kill everyone.  That said accurate use of weapons is neither thinking or reflexes it is something else like a concept of space?
