I'm not buying it day one, but I'll pick it up eventually since I enjoy pretentious indie games and I try to support local developers.

Bought it this morning and finished it.  I enjoyed it even though the control scheme kept fucking with my head. I don't think I ever really got used to controlling each character independently.  Strangely enough, I seemed to have the most difficulty when there wasn't much going on and I was guiding them down the path. I'd inevitably get them mixed up......I suppose my brain isn't able to do this kind of multitasking.

There's one section in the game when you're scaling a dilapidated bridge and tower that totally gave me ICO flashbacks.  I guess we finally got that next gen ico game.....thanks Starbreeze.  There was another cool moment near the end of the game that reinforced the relationship between the two brothers that was actually thoughtful in its execution.  I was kind of expecting the story to unfold the way it did but they really nailed the character's growth in that scene.

Kind of a cool little game.

went to the Steam page and saw:

Notice: Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons requires a controller to play

huh, can't think of another PC game that requires a gamepad.

Finished.

Really good short story experience. Basically this year's Journey. However I enjoyed Journey more. The themes being presented here didn't connect as much to me but I was able to understand them easily and can see how others would be more affected.

I really liked how the end played out using game mechanics to play into the growth of a character:

By pressing the big brother button you're basically invoking the "spirit" of big brother to motivate little brother to do things he previously couldn't, like swimming.

def thumbs up. really beautiful game too.
