Same locales again will be boring Im sorry
There's like fourty new maps in single player or something. Existing maps will play out completely different due to the meld mechanic they are adding in. I hear the raining alley of death is getting reworked too!
I played XCOM like five times or something crazy because I enjoyed the unpredictable tactical combat and customization the game offered. Yes, there will still be some key research points to "advance" to the next stage in the game but that was just another mission with some unpredictablilty, outside of the temple at the end which is pretty fucking dumb but I don't hate the game for it.
Not a story game! This is not final fantasy XV. Even in Civ there are a lot of things you do the same every game and "unlock" key techs or buildings at roughly the same times. Not really too different from XCOM.
