Nah, it's kinda necessary to the plot of the show. It's about an offshoot Mormon cult that still does the polygamy thing. As far as I know, it's the first television show to try to tackle the idea, and it does a good job of illustrating the inter-relationship politics and the logistics of how things work.

It's really nifty. I didn't expect to like it so much.

Yes. They do. Carnivale and Deadwood were pretty much cancelled (although Deadwood had some other issues I think and there will apparently be movies), and some shitty comedy just got cancelled.

The HBO shows are generally all good. I think they take their time in developing these things so they know they have something worthwhile.

Hm.

If there's one thing I know little to nothing about it's HBO. For a long time the only time I saw cable TV was when I went to a friend's house or a family member's. Then when I got cable TV I didn't watch it much, outside of sports lol. Which is why I'm so oblivious to 90% of TV shows.

Although living by myself and being able to stay up all night has given me time to watch more stuff this year. Still haven't seen Lost or House, but I saw Heroes (meh) and The Office (couple good episodes, couple bad ones). Saw 24 a couple times and loved it.

The HBO shows are really good, but they're pretty much totally serials. For most of them, if you miss an episode, you stand a good risk of getting lost. The production values are aces and the writing is usually great.

Check out season 1 of The Sopranos, Phoenix Dark. You will be CUMMING by the end. It is so incredible.

I like Godfather, and I've never seen a bad mob movie outside of the one with De Niro and that dumbass sounding distinguished mentally-challenged fellow kid...so yeah I'll check it out.

My problem with TV is attention span. I can watch a 2 and a half hour movie - even if it's subpar - but if a 30min TV show doesn't grab me before the first commercial break I'm gone. That has happened to me so many times this year with soo many shows I'm embarrassed to count. It makes no sense lol.

Maybe that's why 24 got me excited. It was getting me excited and making me think at the same time. Like "OMG is he really going to kill his son WTF? And his wife omg she's hottie total!"
