Infamous Second Son and Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 come to mind. I'd also argue that a majority of the 3rd party games coming out cross-gen are gonna be best purchased for one of the new consoles. Then that way you don't get cheated out of the experience due to technical reasons. I agree it's pretty barren when it comes to exclusive's and first party games this console launch, makes me wonder what all their teams are working on.

Watch_Dogs, The Division and Titanfall... You don't need next gen for all of them, and they all look derivative in some ways, but they're the ones I think look most promising, in terms of making popular Western game ideas more fun.

I think some other stuff looks fun, things like Resogun, and even things like PvZ: Garden Warfare... Of course, other stuff like Quantum Break, Ground Zeroes, Killzone and the various racing games look impressive to me, for what they are. Just not £400+ this Christmas impressive.

Excited for?  Nope.  Interested in?  Sure- I'd like to see how Killzone, Infamous, CoD Ghosts, Watch Dogs, Killer Instinct, and Titanfall turn out.  The problem here is that three of those games are more like current-gen ports and are also on PC.  I guess Metal Gear, too, although I really don't care much for that series anymore.  Maybe MGSV will change that.

I really don't care much for the new consoles because there are no games that I'm really looking forward to playing a lot at launch.  I think the biggest launch game exclusive to console I want to check out is Killzone, but at the end of the day, it's just another FPS.  There's no shortage of those on the platforms I already own. 

It's hard to get excited when the stuff I like is still getting announced for the current-gen platforms.  Fighting games are still mostly hitting the PS3/360 and now PC, and stuff like the Koei musou titles and even Capcom's Sengoku Basara 4 are for the PS3 and Vita.

There's not even a new rehashed Ridge Racer release this time around.

But still, I will be getting a PS4 at launch, solely due to having paid for it with nothing but old game trade-ins.

Maybe Smash Bros Wii U.  Right now it's looking kinda lazy, but considering how much Sakurai puts into his games, it's easier to be excited for another entry in that series than Mario Kart or Donkey Kong or w/e.

yeah, surprisingly there's enough to do on both consoles without buying a game...assuming you have Plus/Gold, meaning the consoles are more like $450/$560.

yesterday I read that Resogun is 'free' on PS Plus, along with a couple indie games, a slim version of Driveclub (that's apparently the full game minus some cars/tracks, since you can get a platinum trophy), and whatever free to play stuff is there.  XB1 has Killer Instinct, Forza or Fifa, and world of tanks?

not that bad considering 360 came with Hexic and PS3 with buyer's remorse.

Kojima has said "they're doing it" but that it isn't a priority for them. Konami is probably waiting to see how their PC ports of Revengeance and the Lords of Shitshow games perform.

Konami/Kojima Productions is sketchy when it comes to PC.  Originally Rising was announced for PC, then Platinum came in and it was cancelled, then it was announced again as coming soon, and it's been a couple months without any new info.  I think at one point the MGS HD Collection was announced for PC.  Vague hints at a PC version of MGS5, but no promises.  Castlevania is the exception, and even then, the HD version of the 3DS is only announced for consoles.

Earlier today they announced that the next gen version of MGSV (or Ground Zeroes, whatever) is at TGS.  Supposed to be at 60fps, so that's nice.
