Another problem with Corona is that it doesn't take like anything but bleh alcohol. I put a teaspoon of sugar in my second bottle and all it did was fuzz up, didn't change the taste

Eh, Blue Moon was kind of my entrypoint into "craft" (quotes used because Blue Moon is no more of a macro than a microbrew) beers, and I still don't mind it. Gundam is obviously a bigger beer aficionado than me, but I'll agree that it's hardly remarkable. Though I won't look down on anyone for liking it as it's entirely drinkable.

If you happen to notice the existence of New Belgium's Mothership Wit, I recommend that instead. It's also a Belgian White that is somewhat common, though not as common as Blue Moon.

I usually get something local and/or organic, where the only ingredients are apples and yeast. But I live in Portland, where that's doable.

Maurice, you need to stick to American wheat beers. They are the perfect compliment to anything you want to add sweet to them (lemon, orange, sugar, whatever).

They are a good way to break you in to acquiring the taste for heavier beers. Gateway beer.

Well, Hoegaarden is an import that isn't widely available around me. It's certainly not something you can pick up at a convenience store, for instance. The grocery stores with decent beer selections will often have it.

Aside from the Mothership I mentioned earlier, Deschutes has a pretty good Belgian White, but the name alludes me. And in terms of Belgian style beers in general, I've really taken a liking to Tripels.

Mike's doesn't a do a very good job of masking the booze. I drink some pretty strong stuff like Imperial IPAs, Barleywines and Barrel-aged Imperial Stouts, but those are much smoother and balanced.

That's a good question, I wonder if the WA Liquor Control Board (in charge of developing the marijuana laws) has even talked about that.

Try to buy liquor/alcohol in WA and see if you can get a tax exemption. That should answer your question.
