Vodka is for people who only drink to get fucked up and have no account for taste or enjoying an alcoholic beverage or mixing it in something to get fucked up. I can drink any other alcohol straight and like it. Oh great you want to get some vodka on the rocks? Go ahead you bad girl you.

God. Fucking vodka. I only like it in stuff like white Russians where I can sit and enjoy the drink and not feel this crappy lack of taste and burning sensation.

Himu have you ever had Hanger One? I've had many vodka's and it's the only one I'll drink straight. They have a citron that's made with Budha's hand and it's amazing. It's produced locally here in california and it's well worth the price. They also make the best gins ever! I can't drink now so blah...

Never had much of a taste for it myself (I think we burned ourselves out on the cheapest nastiest stuff between the ages of 12-14), but my grandfather used to love the shit.

Straight vodka is a one way trip to gag-town for me, but I can appreciate it as a component in some mixed drinks. It's neutral enogh to work with a lot of different shit. Without vodka we wouldn't have bloody mary's.

I cut my hard alcohol teeth on drinking paint remover quality vodka when I was a teenager. Shit was so rank that you needed to mix it with something to keep it down. My preference was grapefruit juice.

Naw, two days of drinking in a week isn't alcoholism. It doesn't impact my day to day in any way and I often go weeks, months without drinking. I've just had a rough week and decided to unwind. However whenever I do drink, normally it is just one glass of the stuff, and it is to relax and enjoy for taste.

Gin & Vodka are experiencing a huge renaissance here in the UK. Black Cow vodka and The Botanist gin are fine examples.

I know that. But every fucking liquor type is good for mixing with the exception of beer for obvious reasons. This doesn't make vodka special or any less shit or liqueurs any less delicious. Also, as Biz said you can order liqueur like drinks that contain no vodka.
