Buy a PS3 or PS4 at this point?
« on: September 16, 2013, 09:02:49 AM »
I'm thinking I could have PS+ for a year and get some free PS3 and 4 games, then switch to PS4 when there is some good bundle out.

As I havent had a PS3 for ages there is loads I still need to play. Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2/3, Killzone 2/3, Beyond Two Souls or whatever its called. God of War.

Then again looking at the PS4 in store will be so hard.

Haha yes I actually do ask her. She says I should get PS4 cause Ima gonna be a bebbe when I see it instore and don't have it.

Which translates into: Please buy a PS4 and STFU about it.

Nope
Then it's the easiest choice in the world. I guess you haven't played Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, Folklore or any other of the good PS3 exclusives.

Nope.

I havent had a PS3 since 2008 really when mine broke. Had a 360 or PC just for other years.

Then you probably have ~20 good exclusives to get trough. Buying a PS4 when you're not interested in any of its games is just plain stupid.

Do you still play games? If you just like the idea of playing games or if you enjoy talking about them on forums you could get the PS4.

I finished a few games this year already:
-Batman AA
-Max Payne
-Xcom
-Binary Domain
-Tomb Raider
+ put a lot of hours (between 3 and 40) into other games that I haven't finished or just played around with (Ass Creed 2, Darksiders, Hotline Miami, Dead Space, Hearthstone, Mass Effect 3, Medal of Honour, Battlefield 3, DOTA 2)

I definately play a few games a year to completion, from the PS3 this would be Uncharted 2,3, Killzone, 2/3, Heavy Rain, Two Souls and TLOU that I would like to play.

I played Flower and Trash Panic to death when I was a tester already.

But Journey / Tokyo Jungle would be new to me.

Anything else thats exclusive to PS3?

you could always buy one extra an sci fi FPS, an simcade driving game and an third person action game in the steam xmas sale to get the full PS4 experience.

it took the PS3 the best part of a decade to grow a fertile crop of titles worth the price of entry and by then, it was a third of the price.

i'm guessing you're not buying a PS4 for its mindblowing laptop-spec innards?

Wait until the holidays before you buy a PS3, it's only a couple of months away and there's bound to be all sorts of discounts and bundles

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

A system with a backlog of hundreds of games that costs 250 dollars, free online versus a system with no backwards compatibility, launch games, costs 400, forces you to pay online.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

I'm assuming that's your haul?

Good decision. I voted PS4, because I would have tried to borrow a PS3 off a friend or something in your position, but you've got some good shit there and with all you can play, I doubt you'll feel too bad

Looks like you've got nice long/tall windows in your house btw, with them being that low to ground. Where abouts dyou live again? Must be somewhere alright, I don't think I could leave our TV in our window!

Yeah it's great but impossible to heat (whole side of the appartment spanning 3 rooms is a glass window basically), so we're moving to a less flashy place this weekend :)

It's the third floor overlooking the bay here so no way someone could get up there even.

Here its up for rent now:

view from my balcony and living room last week in the morning, you can see the ferry coming in from the UK  :heartbeat

If you love strategy games don't pass up Valkyria Chronicles. VC was the game that made me finally buy a PS3 3 years after launch.
