People on GAF seem to believe that casuals can't work the internet despite people pissing away millions on Cut the Rope levels and Candy Crush pay-gates

My only issue here is that both of these are late. It may look a little too much like the original in the graphics department, but had Wii Sports Club been there at launch, Wii U would have been way more marketable last Christmas.

I like the idea of playing with and against other regions... Merseyside vs Greater London in the UK for example.

yeah, this is what i thought was going to happen for the brief nanosecond before my brain calibrated itself to nintendo reality.

when the 3DS begins to tail off, that's it for nintendo. they've got nothing to offer hardware wise, their software is becoming ever more conservative and cannibalistic, their top flight is engaged in a tiger electronics mentality. save for doing something drastic, they're done.

the Wii was a system that succeeded on fads, first it was Wii Sports, then Guitar Hero (GH3 did stupid numbers for it if I recall), then fitness 'games' took over, while actual games like Mario Kart had a shot for awhile, and then Just Dance and Zumba resurrected a quickly dying Wii for a bit, which kept the Wii's heartbeat going just long enough so physical toy games from Activision and Disney could keep the system relevant at all.

its a formula that can't be replicated.  But for years, that little white box was hard to keep down.

The WiiDS years were almost too good to Nintendo.  It made them think they can squeak by with as little effort as possible and hope that everything will turn out as long as they're in the right place at the right time.  Now they're hoping these Wii Sports games will do the trick but in the usual day late and a dollar short MO that is the problem with Nintendo these days.
