Did anyone buy an original Surface Pro?
We got one in for work. Our CTO uses it quit a bit. It's comical watching him work with it because it's so clunky. Think what it would be like to work with your laptop or desktop screen with hundred of fingerprints and smears on it?  :-X

:lol

When I started working in design, and we got our first 21" monitors in (BEASTS!), I was surprised at how frequently some designers would touch their screen when pointing to an object. It was unbelievable! Whenever I'd have go to their screens to help them with something, the smears and oily rainbows of their discharge was all over the screen.

It drove me crazy then, and now everyone's smartphone and tablets are like that. :yuck

I bought one for my sister last month.

Aside from battery, it's a performance beast.  It's so much faster and responsive than all the other tablets.

Also, being able to play something like Titan Quest on a tablet is pretty awesome.

The haters have obviously never played with one.  iPad vs Surface Pro isn't even a valid comparison 'cuz one can do so much more.

Thanks, but I think I'm okay with the one I have. It does everything I want it to, so far. With the type cover it's great for word processing. I really would like one of those 8 inch Bay trail full Win8 tablets, but I'm gonna wait until they're all out before I make a decision there.

The Verge:

All the power of the Surface Pro came at a cost in battery life nine months ago, but I'm happy to report that Microsoft's promise of a 75 percent improvement for the Pro 2 is genuine. The Surface Pro 2 lasted 7 hours, 33 minutes on the Verge Battery Test using Chrome, which cycles through a series of websites and high-res images with screen brightness set to 65 percent. That's nearly double the Surface Pro score, which lasted for 3 hours, 59 minutes. It's the same package and screen, but it's clear that Intel's Haswell chip is helping to improve battery life here. While it's not the 10 hours you might expect from a tablet, given the compromise for laptop-style power it's definitely acceptable.

Review is pulled due to embargo but should be up soon.

It's a full Windows machine, what's to screw up? I mean, unless you go installing a bunch of Google bullshit, you're all clear.

Lulz, this is hilarious on its own level.

Good troll, though.

I spent a lot of time with my Surface Pro 2, which is the 4 GB/128 GB model since getting it.

I like it a lot.  This is the first tablet I ever owned and may still get an iPad Air here when my bonus check comes in.  This thing is slick as fuck.  The screen is amazingly clear and bright and everything moves fast.  I bought the tablet mostly for reading and watching Netflix before I go to sleep.  The Kindle app is very nice and Netflix works great.  I got a black keyboard to go with it and that is great as well and I like how it doubles as a cover for the screen.  The only downside is that the touchpad buttons suck ass.  This has a lot of potential and a lot of features so I don't want to just watch movies and read e-books on it.  So in the coming days I'm going to really see what it can do.  Ultimately I think it can replace my laptop, which was a cheap, shitty (even for then) 2009 Dell laptop I got for $400.  Going to see how Office runs on it.  If it is great, then I might just make it my new laptop.
