I also couldn't give two shits about Ryan's (Rian?) off-screen dead daughter.  I know it drove some of her motivation near the end of the movie but it felt forced.  I'm with Esch here, the entire thing did feel forced but I really didn't care because omg fucking space

Also, Bullock with short hair :drool

Also, 90 minutes of her panting and moaning and getting into her underwear and then getting soaking wet and muddy. :drool

I don't think I've been as exhilarated by a movie in years than I was during this. The sequences of destruction sent my pulse right up and my stomach in knots. Gravity may be one of the scariest movies I've seen as well. There are so many moments of pure dread and suspense and it manages to reuse the same basic setup three full times and each time ends up being just as affective as the last. There's one moment in particular that I loved:

She's trying to detach the parachute from the Russian escape pod. She looks behind her and doesn't see any debris. As she continues to work, in the distance, you see objects dart by out of focus.

That moment worked as well as it did because of the 3D and that to me shows how damned brilliant the director is. The 3D in this movie was fantastic and improved the movie without a doubt.

Going in I was down on the idea of Bullock being the main character. To my surprise she held her own. I was impressed that she's been able to turn her career around since the Oscar win. I hope she continues to pick quality projects.

I pretty much loved it. It's not perfect but the experience was amazing.

My wife and I went to it today and I can honestly say that that was probably one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had in a theater.  Absolutely mind blowing.  An instant classic that demands that you see it in IMAX 3D. I seriously can't say enough about it.  Can't wait to see it again.

God damn.....what a great film :lawd

I tend to think of modern 3D as nothing more than a stupid money grabbing gimmick, but I can't imagine not seeing Gravity in 3D.

I'm with The Biz on this one. Of course optimally, you want all three things, but the giant screen is definitely more important than the 3D.

when clooney started trying to motivate her by telling her that her daughter was dead and she should get over it and get off her ass.....that threw her into a rage apparently. my wife is not a good movie watcher - should have taken my boyfriend.

Why would that throw anyone into a rage? That's odd haha
