Himu- you know I'm not a lame shill like Fandrex, but let me answer- Nexus 7 is definitely the best bang for your buck, especially if you like the 7" form factor over the larger ones (I do, no homo)

Pricewise, there's no comparison, and the screen on the 2013 N7 shits all over the ipad mini for way less money.  The only negative is you have to wait to get apps, but in the future I think this will slowly change and there will be parity.

If you want the best apps and games the only choice is still iPad.

Maybe in the future this will change, but you don't buy electronics that have a 3/4 year lifespan with the prospect of things getting better, unless you are a fanboy.

I don't mind the lack of apps, it's mainly a consumption device for me and it's brilliant for that. Watching a HD youtube video on it was wonderful.

The old model at $140 is nice. Hopefully google does the same and drops the Nexux 7 to $140 when they announce the new one

I have a Nexus 7 2012 version and a iPad 3. The only reasons I can see for preferring a Nexus would be portability or having a smaller budget.

I just want the games and apps from ios without buying an iphone. I hate that I have to wait weeks, months, years just to get something on android that should have been on the market day one. Despite being the number one os, we are treated lesser than the ios base. For that reasons, I need an iDevice.

Do you have to have a tablet?  If you're just getting it mainly for games maybe you could get a touch.

Well, you'd be locked down to Amazon's market.  The HD+ is a good enough tablet to sit out a gen safely, I think.  I'd wait to see what's down the line in a few months.

Has anyone tried Amazon's subscription service for the kindle?  The book rentals sound pretty cool.

I dunno about "rentals," but there are a lot of books you can borrow for free as part of Amazon Prime -AND- owning a Kindle. I have iOS devices with the Kindle app, but the loaners are not available unless it's on Amazon hardware.

If you absolutely want an iOS device for games, it's  best to wait for the next iPad mini which will probably have a retina display and much  I can't really recommend a 10" incher unless it's for reading documents and a mini sized tablet is a lot more comfortable to hold for long periods of time.
