Yeah that's not the Japanese word for milk, no? Most of the milk stuff I read when I practice is in katakana.
ぎゅうにゅう (gyuunyuu) is cow's milk, but I don't see it used much. The katakanization is in full swing.
That actually does get used a lot (some brands just say "Gyuunyuu"), but yes, people also just say
miruku. I always read that the DBZ character's name was supposed to be a joke on "tits," even before studying Japanese. That goes with "Bulma," which is "buruma" = bloomers, AKA a type of underwear. Hence her kids' names "Trunks" and "Bra."
It's funny how so much of Dragonball is just stupid jokes, yet it gets all serious.
