I'm sick of caving to the right every single time. Good job.
Yeah, I want to take it a step further.

I'd like to see them docked pay for the days in which they're refusing to do their job, and/or be written up and fired, or whatever the equivalent is for government employees who are refusing to perform the duties in their job description.

Alternately, under the PATRIOT Act, I'd like to see the republicans declared "unlawful combatants," rounded up, and shipped to Guantanamo.

It's hilarious, really. The whole point of the shutdown was to damage Obamacare, but in the end all it does was draw attention away from the shaky first few weeks of the federal exchange. :lol

I've been getting that damn "verification system is down" message for 16 fucking days :(  The worst part is that I have to go through the ENTIRE application every day just to find out at the end that it's down.  Please tell me as soon as I log in "Hey by the way, our verification system is down so your application can't be processed."

I don't even qualify for a subsidy, I just want to view the damn marketplace.

You can actually just look at it without signing up now

Fucking trainwreck though. I've heard calling works, but the site should be working by now. I've heard some people dismissing this as a temporary issue...but this greatly damages the law. The only way Obamacare will work is if enough young people sign up. But if your state hasn't set up its own exchange/website you're pretty much fucked.

Personally I would not have even opened an exchange in Texas, given how obstructionist the government has been there. They're systematically attempting to ruin it.

It is a trainwreck, but I think it's one outside the scope of what was predicted (though, perhaps it should have been predicted...) The federal exchange was meant to be a backup to the individual state exchanges. However, fully 34 (!) states opted out of creating their own exchanges. So there's a huge burden at the federal level that was not anticipated.

While that's true, the Supreme Court decision that led to it occurred in the early summer of 2012. There was one entire year to get this right, and 90m was allegedly spent to do it. There were always going to be glitches of course, but nearly a month of the site not working...I didn't think that could happen.

I don't think the law should be delayed, but at this rate they should extend the deadline to sign-up from March to April or later.

I will say this though: we've received quite a wave of new patients due to the Medicaid expansion/increase in quality care; before the law we didn't accept Medicaid due to how poorly it pays providers, but that has changed for the better. And we've had many older white patients with southern drawls call up and almost whisper "...so uh...does Obamacare cover my kids' dental now?"  :obama

The problem with delaying the deadline is that it will make 2014 pretty much exempt because of the requirement to have insurance for 9 out of the 12 months.  It's the same as what Republicans were basically suggesting with moving it to 2015.  Hopefully it all gets ironed out relatively quickly.

The funniest thing is that some on the right who hate the law/view it at socialism actually want some type of single payer system. You can't have it both ways!
