Yup. They clearly don't have a "defense czar" basically. They got Rick farming, Hershel wasting everyone's time on the council, Daryl and Michone doing grocery runs...but who is securing the place? How the hell do they NOT lock cell blocks, especially at night? Like, someone patrols for x time, then is relieved and let back into a cell block by the next person who patrols. That alone would have ensured that Walker Nick couldn't waltz into a cell block without anyone knowing...

Right now they have like 40 people, and only about 7 know how to do anything  :lol

Gasoline doesn't have that great of a storage life. 2-3 years, maybe, in really good conditions.  Wonder if they'll ever touch on that, since they're hitting that two year mark.

I would bet money that you'll never see it mentioned in the TV show.

Or the comic, for that matter.

You can't make a bomb with gasoline. It's not self-oxidizing like gunpowder or other explosives. It seems a waste if they used the gunpowder from their bullets to make a pipe bomb.

It's probably better if they put up some boards to keep the walkers from seeing them on the other side of the fence.

I wanted the Tyreese hammer crazy scene to be closer to the comics.  would've liked it if the three doubled back to the car and found Tyreese sitting again with a mess of dead zambies around.

That's what I wanted to see, kind of like seeing the results of Jack Bauer's assault on the Russians in Season 8: the scene lets your imagination take on what happened.

Kinda eh episode. Not bad but not particularly good.

I was scared when Carl bum rushed Hershel like that. We all know what happens when Carl and old, wise white men go into the woods alone  :tocry

I realize people act stupid in real life, and therefore it's not a stretch to display that in film/tv/etc. But Daryl checking the radio like that was one of the absolute dumbest things I've ever seen, to the point of just being ridiculous. You have someone in the passenger seat who can turn the dial, god dammit.

This season is starting to remind me of S2, when things slowed to an absolute crawl on the farm as they searched for the little girl.

that is the problem with the series as a whole - and it ain't going to get any better, unfortunately. the problem with the show to me is that they can't provide a compelling enough story while they are in these set place to make me forget that the scenery isn't changing.

So far I am enjoying this season way more than three. I really hate Carl, though. With Andrea gone he is the most annoying character. He's always up in everyone's business and his only card he can play is, "I'll tell my dad."

I think they are handling disease way better than they handled Woodberry. It's scarier. It's like Outbreak except you turn into a zombie.

The thing I didn't understand was why Tyrese and everyone else thought the torched corpses were a murder. If the virus is fatal, then how do they know they weren't already dead? It seemed like a non-issue to me. At least we got to sera bit of tough-guy Rick again.

I think one shot showed Rick noticing a bloody hand print on the door, suggesting that they were alive when they were dragged out there.

Doesn't make sense with the Carol knifing in the back of the head flashback scene. But that was probably a red herring/justification for Rick to throw her out.

Also GAF/fanbases misorgyny over female characters on the show is pretty sickening.

"GLAD SHE'S GONE!"
"Why?"
"JUST... BECAUSE! SHE'S..."
"What?"
"ANNOYING! YEAH! ANNOYING!"
"In what way?"

Some people claimed I was being misogynist when I complained about Andrea last season. Andrea was just the 2d character that was vastly different from her comic book counterpart. Carol is a pragmatic killer and has changed the most over these four seasons. I hope she returns and I hope things go to shit without her.

I didn't know her name for four years. Me and my bros been calling her Ellen Degenerus  :lol

Another episode that felt like it was stalled. It also really highlighted how few "new" characters are worthwhile. It's still all about Rick, Daryl, etc despite Michonne's dumb ass getting some screen time. Even with 3 black people traveling around together, there is no "is someone going to die" tension.

I figured something would happened to "Carol" once she started popping off at Rick, something that I like to call T-Boning: when a disposable character starts telling Rick how things are going to go, they are dooming themselves to death or worse. I think she'll be back though, seems ridiculous to banish her from the show with no resolution.

Rick being a dumbass tho...giving away a working car and gas just to get rid of her? Why not have her watched, and simply not save her next time she's picking flowers outside the damn gate, totally oblivious to the walkers mere feet away from her.

That was a really good episode. It was intense as fuck and it's probably the most intense yet. Unfortunately, we barely knew any of the characters that died. That guy with the gun who wanted to be with the the other guy (his brother?) that was about to turn. it would have been nice to even just know his name or why he was so attached to that kid. Or the girl that turned. Or that guy that had the bag in his mouth.

I thought Glenn was done for, though. Pretty much everyone who got the blood in their mouth were done.

Overall, this season is going a lot better than the last one.

Good episode. I'm crazy how the level of competent people has barely increased since S3. The only people "doing shit" are the people from S1 and S2 lol. They got all them losers from Woodberry and maybe one (the doctor) had any benefit.

Dayum at that scene with Glenn at the end. That was probably the most intense moment of the season to me, I think they've killed off nearly every new side-character introduced this season so that kind of feels like a waste. It would be interesting if the Governor is responsible for the flu by putting something in their water supply which is the stream just beyond the gate. It couldn't have been their food because that was probably all foraged, hunted, or canned.

Also isn't it weird that Hershel and the kids seem to be the healthiest people in the quarantine? You know what would be horrible is if it's Darryl that dies to save Michonne.

Interesting ep but I can imagine comic fans were raging at that shit.

The Governor just isn't an interesting character in the show. I understand him feeling like he has gained a new family, but at the same time it also seems ridiculous that he's completely given up on revenge (for now). There's no way he doesn't revert back to murderous motherfucker.

At this point I'm interested in seeing how his new family dies BUT I'd rather see the resolution of the Carol situation (and the flu) at the prison. Seems like this episode could have happened earlier in the season. At this point the next ep will be all Governor again, and the finale will be resolution at the prison+new conflict with the Governor. Which feels like a repeat of last season, just with lower stakes I guess.

Kind of impressed that they took certain things so far. I would expect it from the game and comic book but the show has seemed kind of tame in comparison since it became a megahit.

darryl will never die.  Goes up against zombies, gov's crew, and tank and singlehandedly defeats them.  More if the main cast should have gone.  Beth, cutty's sister, glen.  Or at least some crippling injuries.  Darryl standing next to an exploding tank should mess with his hearing and at least make him seem vulnerable.

And micchone rolling once the shooting started :dead

So basically the entire main cast just survived against a force twice their size that had a fucking tank :beli

Best part was that kid merking someone to save Cutty. This show must give gun nuts the biggest boners

definitely a good finale but still...how can no one die in that episode. Yes Hershel died but that was BEFORE the battle.

They clearly like to give weight to a character's death which has its place, but this is TWD; people need to die in the heat of battle.

Anyway, this should have been last year's finale.

The tank literally didn't do shit. Hell, you could tell Rick's team didn't think the tank was shit either, given how much they were crowding together 3-4 people at a time. Seriously, why the fuck would you stand together and shoot at a fucking tank...unless you know you were in season 5

Zombie's are attracted to loud noises. It was a big point the governor made.

I think I can safely say the show is back on track. Although, the baby thing is way too open ended. That baby's dead as shit.

Can't wait for Carl's POV episode, if it's like the comics it's gonna bring the justicey feels.

In the comic, the tank was known not to be shit as well, but it was voiced in the dialog. The guy in it had taken months just to figure out how to drive it, no-one knew how to work the guns. The Governor was hoping it would demoralize Rick's crew into giving up, or at least fighting in a panicked state. It didn't work.

Much of my disinterest is in the fact that this was the premier episode of the second half. This felt like a regular episode 9 of a season, hence me wondering why I had to wait months to see it. It wasn't bad, just completely forgettable and focused on three of the least interesting characters on the damn show.

I don't get why you're calling it an angst filled pity fest. Their home was overrun by a small armed conflict and a horde of zombies, Carl's baby sister was eaten alive, and they basically have nothing to live for again.

It is indeed ridiculous that none of the main cast died in the aftermath of the prison escape. Someone should have had back luck - whether it's being surrounded by walkers, running into an outlaw band of killers, waking up and realizing you've been bit, etc. Someone should have died.

Man, I wish that would have happened in the TV show. Maybe I ought to give these a read.

The comics are very good. The TV show is missable, sadly. I watched s1 and part of 2, didn't really like the choices people made. The comics are more believable -- or maybe they're just more pessimistic.

Yeah, the Negan/Saviors arc does feel a bit like Woodbury, but it has been varied enough in who is in danger, and how all the Characters Who Are Not Rick react to it differently. Hell, even Michonne is in a different space than where she had been, and it is interesting to see her reflect on her own part of The Governor's motivations.

She lied to Rick to save Lizzie,  then lied to Tyreese for the aforementioned reasons. It doesn't have to make sense, because this show is stupid.

Okay, if she lied to save Lizzie why would she put up with Lizzie's bullshit for so long when warning-bells were there as early as the prison, then?

Let's say this is true: What is Lizzie's motivation for killing the prison's sick? Lizzie admitted she killed her sister for the sake of "showing" Carol they (walkers) aren't as dangerous as Carol and everyone else has told her they are. She was even close to killing Judith to prove this point.

Lizzie wouldn't/couldn't have known that the people that were sick were going to turn or not: What benefit would Lizzie have in doing that?

Carol's reasoning (to protect the group) makes the most sense; facing an unknown threat (the virus) with no means to stop it's spreading (outside a quarantine that may be too late to enforce as shown as the "series" progressed with that storyline) outside of possibly killing the carriers (which, IMO is stupid from a medical and logical perspective on illnesses, but roll with it) that would stop the infection possibly... why would Carol lie about that?

So basically: What is Lizzie's motivation in killing the sick beyond "she's crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!111!1" that you're going with?

Further more: How would Lizzie have dragged the bodies of the two outside, given she's a child and then set them on fire if she wanted to see them turn?

I don't disagree that there is some weird gaping logic plotholes that the writers do (hell the same happens in the comics at times), but this is one line of logic that simply doesn't connect with what we are shown/seen. Carol lying simply doesn't make sense. Her wanting to die by Tyreese's hand by admitting the murders? Sure, that's logical and seen by her giving him the gun. Her lying to protect the girls? That's a little too much of a stretch.

I think it's ridiculous that you're overthinking a show that you think is stupid. What they said happened is exactly what happened.
