I was talking about it with my brother...most shows we watch do a good job of setting up the next season. If I had never read the books, I would have viewed the end of Game of Thrones S3 as pretty damn shocking, and would be pumped to see what happens next. At the end of Homeland S1 I couldn't wait to see how things could possibly continue (too bad S2 was trash, but the point is that S1 ended with a nice hook). The Wire seasons had nice end points, and often some resolution where you'd be interested in how the next season would go. Breaking Bad almost always ended with a nice hook for the next season.
But Walking Dead just feels like one big fucking circle. They literally spent the entire season on multiple groups walking from the prison to Terminus...to get captured. Why not set it up so that the season starts with them all locked up, having flashbacks of how they got there? That way you're telling two stories at the same time, and get some resolution before the finale. SMH.
