I never got the hype for this game.

Killzone/Knack/BF4/Warframe will be the launch PS4 games I'll be playing until Infamous. Might pick up Ass Creed 4 for cheap.

i heard it's just the arcade mode? good luck getting a girlfriend without being able to show off your fuel mixture skills.

i actually set my dad up with this on my computer when he was around in the summer, he was down to the point that he even bought himself a piece of shit $15 joystick which didn't work. now he's talking about getting a new computer.

it's a luke/vader thing. when i was a kid he was all about flight sims, tie fighter and rollercoaster tycoon. then he got old and became a bloated IAP whale, stabbing at his ipad with joyless abandon. he lost a few pounds recently so i'm hoping to use his self improvement kick to turn him back from the dark side.

Well, just BF4 for me, then. I keep reading and hearing good things about that pirate AssCreed, but I don't want to break my tradition of buying those games at $15 or less before I never play them.

it makes sense to value them at about the same price as a cinema ticket.

Yep.  I learned my lesson from Ass Creed 3.  The more I saw of Watch Dogs the more I realized that Ubisoft hasn't really changed its tired ass formula for sandbox games.

Yeah same here -- traded in a buncha stuff at Gamestop when they were doing that crazy summer deal (I traded in my 360 for $280 which was insane!) so no regrets, although that launch lineup is looking pretty damn dry.

The Paris based publisher initially expected to make $1.94 billion by the end of the fiscal year in April 2014, but now believes that figure will arrive at $1.38 billion. This means that both delays have pulled revenue expectations by $560 million.

Further dismay was triggered among investors when the corporation issued a warning that it no longer believes it will be profitable this financial year. It previously expected a 12-month profit of about $236 million, and on Tuesday told investors it will actually lose about $88 million.

Xbox One has Dead Rising 3, Crimson Dragon, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, LocoCycle... those are basically the big exclusives.

PS4 has DriveClub, Knack, Killzone and a bunch of indie games that have been available on other consoles for quite a while.

This is the only reason I am even remotely interested in the xbox 1. I would love to support the man behind Panzer Dragoon Orta and Phantom Dust but I just can't justify spending $535 to have the privelage of buying one game.

I don't see what the difference is, really. They ain't coming off the price in 6 months, or even a year from now. You can pay your $400 now, and play a few games over the next few months until the library builds up, or you can pay your $400 next Fall and also have to come up with the money for several games on top of that.

There's always the possibility of future bundles or other deals.  I mean, if I had slightly more self-control, I would've saved ~$100 on my Wii U purchase between the $50 price drop and Wind Waker pack in.  Although that's a case where the system had nothing for 10 months following launch.  But ultimately I agree (unless you're planning on buying both consoles at launch).

That's another non-issue. We have 2 or 3 years warranty on electronics.

Edit: I just read up on the law and apparently we have a 1 year regular warranty, plus another law protecting against manufacturing issues for the first 3 years.

there's something about eel's longing to make that new console feeling happen again that suspends any desire i have to recommend rational thinking.

Nah, it's just a new tech toy to me, I'd get the same little rush opening any piece of electronics.  I wouldn't even be getting one if I'd had to lay out money from my pocket.  I have no real...longing?  I just like new sparkly shit that makes noise, and I especially like it when I can weasel up some way of getting it without spending f'real money, like trading in stuff or selling shit on ebay.
