I'll cop Tales of Xillia for $20, sure why not.  But only if I don't have to actually go anywhere in meatspace to do so, cause fuck dealing with black friday crowds.  COME ON AMAZON.

happy about the Zelda 3DS XL coming out here.  Is that releasing on black friday (29th) or when the game is out (22nd)?

if amazon matches, one or maybe two PS Plus cards.

No discounts on Vita hardware? LOL

more than that I'm bummed that the vita 2000 isn't mentioned.  I know the focus is on the PS4, but I was hoping anyway.  Ys, Tearaway, and Batman wait til next year.

What is better? Tales of Xillia or Tales of Graces F?

Which one has better gameplay?
Which one has the characters that I don't want to punch?
Which one has the better side quests?

Which one has the characters that I don't want to punch?
Which one has the better side quests?

well i have played a bit of both but i have gotten bored less than 20% halfway through it so i'm not sure i'm the best guy to talk about

tales of graces

- good battle system, there are no MP and instead each attack waste point and you get more depending how long you combo enemies
- there is a side-system where you find hallmark which reward you with items that you use to craft shit together or sell them for money
- maps sucks, lot of walking back & forth just to trigger cutscene, painfull cutscene's
- insufferable cast, the protagonist whines about his dead father every 5 minute,he's accompanied by a childhood friend who whines about the main character not being what he used to be,and he has a brother who suffer from abandonement issue and spend all his time being all "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND :'("

tales of xillia

- battle system is about making character pair's,each pair is usualy stronger against a type of enemy and comboing enemies together with the AI give you access to special attack and such, not as good as graces
- growth system is similiar to the sphere board
- no cooking system at all
- loot from enemies and item you find around are used to improve shops, that's it you sell random shit to them and they give you new item so it's totaly possible to get end game equipment right at the start if you want
- cast is boring but not eye gouging bad a-la graces, there are two main characters, jude is an university student which act all idealistic and millia is basicaly god so she spout "HUMANS ARE LAME" non sense once in a while, they get accompained by another guy who acts as the older mentor and a loli who's there just to act as a wooby
- there are sidequest but they are all of the "BRING ME 3 PIECE OF WOOD,DEFEAT 4 SLIME" variety, you get rewarded with money and stupid props to put on your character like silly hats and such
- enviroment's are boring as fuck

basicaly i'd say the right answer is go and replay vesperia

They both suck, but..

Better gamplay may go to Graces F, but Xilia is just the Vesperia system perfected. The link system which has you and an ai character compliment each other is a bit more than fluff as it opens some new kinds of combos, but you could easily ignore it.

Characters are for sure Xilia's strong point as Asbel(F's MC) is so goddamn shitty and bland. Protect this! Protect that! Just the most generic JRPG lead out there. Everyone else is pretty boring and one note. I'm the jerk! I'm the wise elder! I'm the childhood girl who you are oblivious to my affections! Just real boring characters that don't go that extra mile beyond thier types.

Not to say Xilia is that much better, but honestly no one is offensive. And honestly the characters don't seem dumb. They do things that make sense and react to things not like idiots. Jude may be on the same path of PROTECT mc type, but he dosent yell it every 5 mins.

Sidequests? I don't know. Tales sidequests always bore me, but they seem a bit more thought out in Xilla.

If amazon matches expect it to be in the form of crappy goldboxes. I know I'm waiting on buying a few games this year since it seems most are going to be rather cheap for BF. I'll be doing my layaway trick like I did last year if anything is advertised at walmart. Last year they were the place to buy games. I'm kinda shocked that Gamestop actually has some deals for once!

Gamestop's BF ads are generally "meh." Probably gonna snag that $30 PSN+ sub. The PS4 and XB1 versions of BF4 and AssCreed aren't on sale, but for anyone wanting to save a little money you could get the 360/PS3 versions and do the $10 upgrade, which would put the total at $39.99 instead of $60. If you want a Vita, I'd bet Amazon will be blowing them out the door at $149 with a game - last year they ran that $179 AssCreed bundle special.

PS3 bundle's kinda cool for those of us that dun have one yet. I want a Vita too. And maybe Xenoblade for a reasonable price. Can't really swing all of that obviously. There should be a deal somewhere on Saints Row IV too, right? Still need that.

I might get a Wii U if I can find one for $200. Not willing to pay above what I can find a PS3 or 360 for.

$20 for Xillia seems like a good deal, it hasn't been out for long.

Same.  Debating whether I should pick up a Wii U in some BF sale this year or wait and see if there's a revision next year by the time Bayonetta 2 comes out.

Do the PS+ games you download only work if your subscription is working?

I'm kinda tempted to get a year or two for the Vita when it gets a price cut but by then most of the games I want will probably only be $10 or so.

Waited around a bit after 20:00 to see if Amazon would price match the Zelda 3DS XL, no dice. Decided what the heck and drove over to Target. Parking lot was full, and the place was crazy. Insane crowds, police officers in full riot gear, lots of interesting sights. Ninja'd my way through the crowd to the back where electronics was. There was an incredibly long line all around the electronics counter that snaked throughout the store. Was going to ask an employee if they had any 3DSes, but the poor guy was seriously on the verge of tears. A customer had decided against some items in his haul and was trying to give them to the employee to restock but he just kept saying "Put them back wherever you can, I don't care where!" So I decided not to bother him and went to look for myself. They had all the video game cases open, it was just grab what you can. They had a ton of Pink, Red, and Blue 3DSes, and way in the back was a Zelda 3DS.  Waited patiently for a dim sounding couple to hem and haw over whether to get Timmy a blue 3DS or a red 3DS. They decided on a blue one, then I snagged the Zelda one, and made my way to the front where there was hardly any line. An old biddy in front of me started talking to me about how crazy the line to get into the store had been. I told her I had just walked in about 10 minutes ago, she looked at me incredulously. The cashier had some difficulty scanning the bar code, and I was worried she would send me back to the long line at electronics, but after a few tries it went through. Pretty successful trip, but man, people who do Black Fridays are nuts.

Crazy.  It's never like that at the Target's in my neighborhood but Best Buy, Fry's and Walmart are also nearby so that they tend to draw the largest crowds.

How much was the Zelda XL? $150 or $170?

Congrats on getting what you want.  Last time, I went through something like that was 2 years ago at Fry's when I was trying to get the Sharp 70" LED for $1500.  I was lucky enough to get the last of 10.

It wasn't nearly as crazy as what you described though.  Some people were bitching about the big tents at the front of the line which were charging people $50 to get in but nobody made a scene.

I have a $10 off Any Item coupon from Gamestop that I bought with some of their Powerup moonpoints a few months ago and is still valid until Saturday. I think I'm gonna go use it on the Metroid Prime Trilogy that's $39.99. I checked a few days ago to make sure my local Gamestop had a copy and they did. I probably should have hid it or something, but oh well. Leave luck to Heaven.
