You can so dominate when you play with a full party that is communicating.
I've yet to experience this. I don't have a headset yet anyway.

Yeah it can be tough to initially group on PC games unfortunately unless you are tapped into a very large community already.

Just a random game but everybody is communicating and saying what they are doing and such and it helps a great deal. (You can't hear them here though. You can only hear me. Twitch streaming on xbox one only seems to allow your voice chat across)

finally cracked this open to play online only to get put with the mtn dew/doritos 10 year olds... They are super annoying. Game is fantastic to play though if not a bit quick. I don't even mind that I die so much since I'm more willing to accept or forget how crappy I did.

Only had this happen once joined a game where people were actually communicating. Had a few games with them.

It makes all the difference.

Not my gameplay but just examples of some of the stuff that really make the game feel like a unique bridge game of older stuff and a modern shooter.

I think I've gotten into the groove of this game now. Doing terribly, of course, but it's a whole lot of fun anyway. Really don't like the minions, though.

Yep.  Or if you're standing still to snipe or shoot people running by stand in a crowd of them.  You'll blend in chances are they will end up shooting the grunts first.

I like the the map layouts in BLOPS2 a lot more.  Don't hate Titanfall or anything, but it's already feeling old.  I'm only like level 21, too.  It would help if you could select or vote on maps in this game.

Maybe somebody here can play some matches with me and show me what I'm missing.

Man, the satchel charges have tremendous range. I rodeo'd a titan and put two charges on it just as the pilot hopped out. I jumped off in time and blew the charges, knocking a ton of health off of the titan while killing the pilot. Then I hopped back on and finished the job. This game does a good job of making you feel like a badass sometimes.

Thats a timing thing. You have to do it when they're vulnerable like already fighting a titan. They usually wont get out in that situation.

I don't know that there is some secret sauce that will change your mind. I think playing with other people and obviously winning tends to make people like a game more but I think that's probably the case with any multiplayer shooter.

I love Black Ops 2. Still probably my favorite COD and I can definitely go back and play it and have a lot of fun  but the issue for me is going forward it's very hard to envision myself playing new COD games. Because there is very little actually new in them.

For me in Titanfall I still see something new everyday that I play that makes me question how I'm playing or makes me want to integrate something new that I've seen into my playstyle. And its beyond just learning maps which is the typical "new" component that happens in a shooter.

I feel like I stopped learning new stuff in COD games ago. It's me playing the same way I've always played. I've hit my personal skill ceiling and there is nothing new fundamentally to learn because fundamentally the game hasn't changed in so long. (Which eventually happens to every series)

In Titanfall I still have a long way to go to improve my Titanskill, my movement skills, my decision making skills, how I use certain pieces of equipments, etc. And that's really refreshing for me in a shooter.

Winning/losing doesn't mean anything to me- I just want to have a good time.  I've been on plenty of winning teams in my time with this game.

But it DOES suck when the broken match-making system places your lower-level team against players with double your levels.

Is there really anything actually "new" in this game?  It's a mishmash of CoD and some other games, all in one.  That doesn't matter to me, either.  Just give me a well-made game.  This game falls short in some areas, which have to be because they rushed to get it out for its launch window release.  I expect Titanfall II to be a big improvement.

I think the movement system and the Titans alone are the most fresh and new thing in a shooter I've played in years. I'm fine with the package of entertainment presented here.

In COD you got extra character slots which was the only real reason I did it there. Outside of the gen tags that's the only reason to do it in Titanfall. Also some people like the grind so they do it for those reasons.

Is this in the PC version? I haven't played in about a week on that platform.

edit:After doing some googling it appears to be like this. Sounds good.

Yeah you get an increasing xp bonus every gen. Some of the gen requirements become very hard though. The "Gooser" requirement for example. They've already said they are going to tweak them (reduce) some of the harder ones.

I hope they roll over the matchmaking system to the other playlists as I mainly like to play CTF and hardpoint. I've never minded a wait to get a more balanced match-up. (Well I use to mind but now I've come full circle on that issue) I thought Halo always was good for that.

Yeah getting steam rolled or even doing the steam rolling really isn't fun.

so I can't get to certain gens just by grinding out XP alone? What's the gooser requirement? Do I have to complete certain challenges or something?

Titanfall Gooser Challenge Made Easier
Ryan King

The notoriously high killcount required to complete the Gooser Challenge in Titanfall has been reduced.

Published on Mar 27, 2014
Respawn Entertainment will reduced the number of kills necessary to complete the Gooser Challenge to five in a future update.

The challenge, which has to be completed to progress past Gen 5 in Titanfall, currently stands at 50 kills - a number that the community has deemed to be too high.

It seems Respawn Entertainment agrees, as the number of Gooser Challenge kills required will be lowered to five 'as part of an upcoming patch'.

For those who have already completed the Gooser Challenge, Respawn says it will recognise that accomplishment as part of the same update.

No date has been set for when this patch will be made live.

It was 50 kills on pilots while they were ejecting from their Titans.

Thanks to everyone who played in our Improved Matchmaking Beta during the last week. As of tonight you'll notice that option is no longer in the menu. We've updated Attrition and Hardpoints modes (non-Campaign) with improved matchmaking, so you'll be playing it automatically.

We'll continue updating matchmaking for the other modes. Stay tuned!

Titanfall is having an ORIGIN GAME TIME on PC.  Play for free this weekend.  It's like 50 gigs (though 'only' downloads 20, unpacks to 50).
