So I installed my bitchin'

new firmware

for my fucking controller and was rewarded with it completely losing sync in the middle of gameplay. I turned off the console using the button on the console itself, but the controller light stayed on. I took the batteries out, tried turning it on, it just glows a steady light and doesn't connect to the console. I connected it by wire and it still does nothing.

Should I factory reset my controller now or what? I love this console dearly.

Oh and when I try to sync it using Kinect, I get a message on screen saying my Kinect is unplugged even though I can see the red lights and it face ID'd me when I turned the console on. And interrupted my gameplay session half an hour ago by forcing me into the XBox Marketplace via voice command somehow. Another brilliant innovation.

Do you have a sound bar, Viscen? Someone in reddit found his sound bar interfering with the controller mid-game.

The last update was pretty good for me. It fixed the controller turn off issue for me but more importantly it actually fixed a problem I had since the system launched. I had an expensive pair of Astro A40's that worked on the 360 but never worked on the x1. It pissed me off. The last controller update fixed that.

Nope. I did a console reset where you hold the power button for 10 seconds and then resynced the controller from new and it worked.

Not on the preview either but thanks anyway for the link.

If you want a preview invite Viscen I can send you one but I have a feeling you might like that less because the preview builds tend to be buggier at first than the builds that go out when they launch to everyone else.

It isn't but they did say something like there is always the chance if they make a significant change, then that possibility does exist. But you can always opt-out of the preview beta at any time and probably reset your console I believe. .

Tried the Scream-ride demo. Thought it was fun. Not sure about the longevity of how long it would be fun but I did like it as kind of a takeoff on the crash mode in burnout.

Also the screenshot mode seems nice.

For what its worth streaming from xbox one to PC is also working now in the latest build of Windows 10

Not my video but I tried it last night also. It's okay. Possibly feasibe for non-multiplayer games although the compression and artifacting during fast paced stuff is visible.
