Yeah, David Zucker went off the rails, and I guess Jim Abraham and Jerry Zucker are basically retired now.

We'll always have Top Gun and Airplane, tho.

I watched some of that movie while waiting for my mate to pick me up to go drinking, needless to say I wasn't sober by the time I got in the car.

Airplane! was definitive. Hot Shots was under-appreciated.

Hot Shots is super great because A. Val Kilmer, and B. the source material (Elvis musicals and iron curtain spy flicks) were pretty ripe for picking.

I can't even think of what a modern analog would be. Although I believe a great satire could be made of modern day action films, but Crank 2 already exists.

Because I don't mind wasting hours of my life at a time I've watched a few of their movies.

Date Movie, Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie.

It's a weird experience because you sit there stone faced for 2 hour stretches ostensibly watching a "comedy". I know its cliche to rag on those guys at this point but it is amazing how far things have fallen.

Yeah, Top Secret was pretty awesome, too. But I was talking about Hot Shots.

I love both Hot Shots movies, especially Part Deux, a local channel used to air it all the time when I was a kid it was glorious

The Nick Rivers songs in this are better than they should be.

It's kinda upsetting when you meet people 25+ who have never seen Airplane! or really any of these except maybe the last Naked Gun movie.

Until I really got into the internet, Top Secret always seemed like a, well, top secret movie nobody knew about.
