I WAS going to spam the BEER thread with Whiskey talk but that seems IMMATURE.
Im already halfway through my bottle of Auchentoshan Scotch lol OMG I JUST GOT IT TOO. It's just really smooth, but I think as a result doesnt offer as unique a taste as the decidedly more expensive Glenlivet. Its a good bottle of booze for 24 bux or so.
Glenlivet was also really good, I think it had a much better taste than Auchentoshan tho. Also aged quite a bit longer. I didnt have the 18, but the 15, tho I am curious to hunt down the 1972 year Glenlivet.
I think the REAL problem is that I need to start stocking up on the lower tier whiskey/scotch like Jameson and Tullamore Dew and Auch for casual drinking nights and break out the Glen and Auchen..maybe even some of the aged Jameson (which I hear is good) for like...twice a month or so haha. I have also cast a greedy eye at some of the pricier scotch that ranges in the 150 dollar range. I just wanna try that stuff once and see what the hubub is about, but goddamn ill probably never pay that much for a bottle of booze for a while.
I think i've sworn off bourbon tho, southern whiskey in general can only be done as shots. While i get drunk faster god damn it tastes bad. I did see the Southern Comfort at the store tho, its tempting in terms of morbid curiosity lol. I MIGHT give GENTLEMAN JACK a shot tho, it promises that its a REFINED experience I can experience as a GENTLEMAN not as a HILLBILLY ON MY BARREL ON THE PORCH.
