It's cool that you've got the inside track on what Bethesda is going to do with Fallout 4.

:umad

Oh no, people are excited for a sequel to a game in a series that they haven't gotten anything new from since 3 years ago and it will probably be out late 2014 or early 2015 if we're being generous. Let's not forget that the studio's last game was fantastic.

I'm totally with himu on this guys. Like, it's probably going to be brown ewwwwwwww

:umad

Frankly, I'm ok with stuff that I like iterating rather than innovating.  You're obviously coming at it from a different angle, but I'm sure there are series where you just want them to hit all the right notes and appreciate new content rather than try to reinvent the wheel.

All this is meant to say: QUIT ADVOCATING FUCKING UP MY FALLOUT, YOU WHORE.

:umad

I ain't the one that's mad breh :sabu

You like to bring that up a lot, can you bring up an example of such a case right now?

I think you're mistaking "annoyance" with "mad."  "Mad" is when the dog fucks your wife; "annoyance" is when it pisses on the rug for the 40th time.

I hope the next mainline Sims is a match-3 puzzle game. You know, just to mix things up a little bit.

The next Sims game seems to be already mixing it up from the previews. I'm on the fence on it. The Sims in its current form is now more interested with being a leisure game about doing extraordinary, fantastical crap like going to the future, going into outer space, and trying to be popular/movie star/whatever stupid popular bullshit at the moment than an actual life simulation. You know what my reaction to that is? Oh well, at least I have Sims 2. So I don't really care.

In any case, I"m going to play Yakuza 3, another game I passed up when it came out because it was the same setting doing the same stuff.

I agree with you. I mean it could be cool if they had the game set somewhere else in the postapocalyptic world like China, India, Europe, or Africa, but this is Bethesda and the majority of people who buy and develop Fallout are provincial cacs so it is what it is.

(Image removed from quote.)

It'd be in America even if it were dev'd elsewhere. Look at GTA; they're in Scotland, but they made a game about American culture.

The Cold War and its -- well, fallout, resonate most strikingly with the cultures of the USA and USSR. They could put it in the latter, but there are already several soviet themed post apocalyptic games out there.

Look, people need to realize that Bethesda's game are the way they are because they're developed by Bethesda, not because they're using Gamebryo. And that's why Skyrim plays like their other games even though it supposedly used a brand new engine and games like Epic Mickey, Catherine, and Divinity II use Gamebryo but are totally different.
Most people don't know what a game engine is to be fair.
