it sounds like the world get destroyed and they somehow ends up in the real world (that is good ol' planet earth) and lightning ends up in france specificaly

Time stopped. No one "died". Everyone's caught in stasis, and as of 13-3, people have lived for 500 years unchanged. People die and there is no way to bring any new people into the world.

God I am consistently impressed with this soundtrack. And surprised at how jazzy it is! So much horn usage, as well as lots of tribal drums. Percussion has always been Hamauzu's strong suit outside of violins and I'm glad that even though this game is a hot mess that the soundtrack is brilliant.

"Ouroboros Festival" is such a dope track.
