Underrated MCs: Black Thought edition

Been listening to a shit ton of Roots lately for some reason, and I for one think Thought is criminally underrated.

If it doesn't start at 10:25, skip ahead to that point.  Yeah, it's basically just Web turned up to 11, but damn if he isn't just straight murdering it.

Even amongst the heads, he's not really on the tip of anyone's tongue so to speak though, but when he's brought up everyone is like "Yeah Thought is the shit."

Nobody lists Black Thought due to him not being a solo artist, which makes him quite underrated. Common, Mos Def, etc all get a lot of respect on lists whereas Black Thought is forgotten. Dude has never fallen off, unlike Common, Mos Def, etc.

Yeah, that's (well, aside from bumping the SHIT out of that 16 minute medley the past couple days) is what made me think of him as criminally underrated- dude brings the same level of game to everything he's done.  Over the past decade plus, he's probably the most consistent MC currently active and no one notices because he's in the Roots.  Crazy.
