Looking for good times with vidya, of the JP ass JP variety. PS3 has lots of exclusive awesomeness, but so does 3DS, along with dat LttP sequel which is tempting as fuck as I am a huge LttP enthusiast.

Both. You can get a regular 3ds for like 100 bucks, and a ps3 for 200 bucks during black friday

Why would you not want PS3 esp. when P5 is coming to it. The weeb factor is tenfold on PS3 over 3DS.

Doesn't Xbox pretty much have the same musou titles as the ps3?

Unless portability is an issue, a console is always the better choice.  There's simply more and better content.

No. It does not. He's missing out on so much Musou.

Because of that, I must change my vote to ps3. Go friend, and enjoy some MASH. Get One Piece Pirate Warriors 2, dude. It totally rocks and knocks the fuck out of Dynasty Warriors 8, which is mediocre pap.

Both. You can get a regular 3ds for like 100 bucks, and a ps3 for 200 bucks during black friday

This, if you shop around you can get a decent deal.

The problem is wading into Black Friday crowds, but it's worth it if you really want those.

Also it really depends on what you're going to do more: Console gaming or handhelds. I have a bunch of handhelds I've bought for like one or two titles sitting around here since the original Gameboy and I barely touched them.  :'( I guess I'm just not the type that wants a "portable experience" in the home due to battery life/etc. ruining the "fun" of long-sessions on the go.

3ds:

Fire Emblem Awakening
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Pikmin 3
Pokemon X/Y
Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Etrian Odyssey 4

Vita:

Ys

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Next year I'm going to be playing some of these that are in my backlog, along with Umihara Kawase, Bravely Default, and more. I just...I don't know.

360 doesn't have the One Piece musou titles. Shin Gundam Musou is PS3/Vita only.

Basara 4 is coming soon, too. PS3 only.

PS3 has a deep back catalog + 2014 stuff (Persona 5, Drakengard 3, HD Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Xillia 2) but it's winding down.

3DS has some solid games and it should keep going, unless Nintendo releases a new handheld or decides to shift resources to the Wii U.

Can't go wrong with either.  PS3 stuff is older and cheaper, so there's more reason to wait on the 3DS, I guess.

PS3 is cheaper than the 3DS/2DS?

meant the games.  most 3DS games that are worthwhile are still in the ~$30-$40 range.

PS3 is incredible value now -- it wasn't when I originally bought one. Now its cheap, it looks good, it has a great library, and its probably got the best value of any home console out right now, especially if you get PSN to pick up the freebies as well. Having said that, as you already have a 360, I'd say its only really worth it if you haven't played the big Sony exclusives yet, or if you're the type of dude excited by the recent Persona announcement etc. PS4 isn't backwards compatible though, so if you've missed out on the likes of Last of Us and other such content, its not a bad investment.

3DS would probably complement what you already have, give you some different experiences, but its doing well enough that the price has remained quite high for what it is. I'd definitely recommend getting one at some point as it has some really must-have games.

Maybe when you're definitely done with your 360 and moving on, you could trade it towards something else like these...

my inner weeaboo has been happy with the ps3 with stuff like ni no kuni, atelier ayesha and the god and fate paradox but i don't think i've reached a 2 digit number of games that made me happy that aren't on the 360 too so sometimes i sort of regret it

as for 3ds,i have yet to pick one but i don't see any reason to get one if you decided to give the middle finger both nintendo and atlus as proven by himuro list whose only not-nintendo not-atlus game on the list is monster hunter (which at least is a really kickass game) and if you haven't then you already know if you want one or not... frankly i wouldn't even think about it if it wasn't for bravely default

and before you asshole start, yes i can spare 150$ buck for a 3DS,yes the thing is now hackable,go eat a dick :beli

Why does that statement leave me dying? More than that, my list is missing games like Ace Attorney 5, Senran Kagura, the upcoming Bravely Default, Umihara Kawase, new Professor Layton, Monster Hunter 4, Picross 3d, One Piece, Mario Golf, Smash Bros.,  Conception II. We have these games announced and the year hasnt even started yet. If you enjoy Japanese games at all it is a pretty logical choice. But oh no, Nintendo and Atlus games! Time to be a rebel!

Ace Attorney 3 is at least 25-30 hours. It costs 30 dollars. Value.

Bravely Default is maybe around 40-60 hours. Maybe more with side quests, give or take. Value.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate lasted me 100 hours - without co-op. Monster Hunter 4 has co-op. It will last me 200 hours, at least. Extreme value.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf I've played about 130 hours of. Extreme value.

Between the games you're interested alone, you're looking at potentially 300+ hours of gameplay. And that still doesn't sway you. Because you're entitled. Enjoy Puzzle and Dragons, I guess.

yeah i'd actualy love to play PAD on 3DS but once again it doesn't exist at the moment! i'd also like rune factory 4 and i guess there is game center cx 3 (also in the "doesn't still exist" pile and also 90% japan only)  too but somehow i still don't feel like it's really worth the fuck, like "man the ds had trauma center, had layton and ace attorney back when they were in their prime, had TWEWY,had the first game center cx back when the retro game collection gimmick was a new thing" the 3DS just sounds like a lame encore... like you see some of the recent 3DS announcement and there is another kirby game and atlus doing another EO-like dungeon crawler

and really i'm not saying this to tangle himuro strings,i just kinda want to buy one because it's japan but when i think about it,i'm not really interessed in it and i just keep flip flopping on it
