PlayStation 3 = 5 kg (11 lbs), (12.8 in. × 10.8 in. x 3.9 in.)
The Xbox = 3.86kg (8.5 lbs), (12.5 in. x 10.5 in. x 4 in.)
Xbox 360 = 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs), (12.16 in. x 10.15 in. x 3.27 in.)




make no mistake, the box really IS hefty, however with an integrated power supply it's much more convenient than the Xbox 360 and its external power brick as you can see with this picture-- not to mention that the size of the PS3's components is possibly going to be reduced and optimized in the future -- it's a marvel of engineering :)

If Sony can reasonably make a PlayStation 3 Slimline within five years of November, I would be very surprised and happy for the bad backs of the world. The PS2 Slim was the pinnacle of SCE hardware, really, especially compared to the this aesthetically challenged beast of a machine. (But I'm sure Microsoft won't do a smaller 360, so maybe Sony will come out on top by default for the fetishists?)
