something that's always bothered me about the lion king
« on: December 31, 2013, 03:27:29 PM »
so there's that bit where the three dropouts have just gorged themselves on insects and other vagabond foods and the pig says "i eat like a pig", to which the lion king states "you are a pig". no one bats an eyelid.

but later on when the hyenas call him a pig, the meerkat reacts like it's some "oh no you didn't" hate speech and it sends the pig into a righteous shit fit.

did i miss something? is it like some "nicca/n***er" thing?

"It's Mr Pig to you"

No enemy will get away with it, but their dangerous new ally is given leeway.

I guess the line is actually "They call me, *Mr* Pig"

I mean whatever he was obviously there to rescue his friends and just needed a cool line

Don't male lions kill their kids? That's what always bothered me, personally.

No. Other cubs. In order to make the lionesses loyal and mate with them and eradicate the other lineages.

Yeah, gestation is longer than some male lion's reign, so infanticide is a way to ensure that their genes are passed on, not the ones of the guy they kicked out just before.

Wow, so the movie was zoologically accurate, after all!  :o

Naw, brothers usually abstain from the whole infanticide bit. They'll happily share the pride and protect each other's cubs. Kinship selection, awooo. Scar is still just an evil bastard.

Was Scar having sex with any of the lionesses, or were they all fucking Mufasa?

Scar was totally a sleep creep, probably had Rafiki hooking him up with chloroform

So much rape, Awesom-O. So much rape.  :fbm

Even though the rape scenes were painstakingly animated, Disney, being a family company and all, removed those rape scenes when they were editing the final cut.

Now the director's cut on the other hand... well that's locked away in the almost mythical Disney vault. Maybe once rape culture is an acceptable part of society in 200 or so years (because by then we'll probably all be cyborgs that can interface with virtual reality or some shit) Disney will then show the true & full version of The Lion King.

What the fuck, Atramental. :oreilly

Sorry O'Reilly, my brain is eating itself due to all the stress I'm under.

It is interesting and somewhat disappointing that Scar did not father an heir during his rule. The film would have been much deeper if Simba had returned only to find that he now had a half-brother fathered by Scar who stood in the way of his claim to the throne.

Wasn't that the plot of the Lion King sequel that no one ever watched?

Scar was secretly gay for Mufasa, but Mufasa spurned his advances. The reason he let Simba live is because he was hoping to hook up with him later.

I'm wondering how much rape Scar committed during his reign.

Also, did Scar exercise his right of prima nocta with Nala?

The seed is strong.
