Willco is reading comic TPBs again - oh noes!

So I finally relented and picked up Vol. 1 of The Walking Dead after everyone told me I should try it.  Okay - I'm hooked.  Also, just from a Hollywood standpoint, this would make an absolutely awesome TV show.  I think a post-zombie apocalypse universe lends itself to a one-hour episodic series dealing with survivors and zombies and a careful play on Romero's rules.  At any rate, if you wanted to see what happens after all the zombie movies, this is a good read.

I also am continuing to read Ex Machina, the political sci-fi superhero epic drama adventure comedy or something.  I really dug it, except for the introduction of his "archnemesis" who was forced and left unexplained.

I caught up on 40 issues of Y: The Last Man last week. It's getting dumb.

I was tempted to delve back into Y, but I'm worried as well.

Well, it's still a lot of fun... just getting kind of repetitive. There was a big megaton in issue 50, and it has to do with the origin of the virus. Should be interesting to see where they go with it.

given the themes explored, along with the graphic nature of the violence, there's no way this show would make a successful transition to television -- unless it was on cable.
