Does this look better than the HD texture pack made by fans?

I have to admit I've never finished this. Gave PS2 copy to a friend (who had all the others up to Code Veronica X but was upset they had "turned it into a FPS" so had never played it), still have the Wii edition but I'd have to spend the ten minutes or so to fix the Wii and probably would start over*. So will get for Steam bonuses because I'm gerry's bitch.

And never finish it either.  :fbm

Actually now that I think about it, I've pretty much not finished any of the GCN/Wii top titles that weren't Metroid games, Wind Waker or Order Up! Twilight Princess, the Galaxies, Eternal Darkness, Super Paper Mario, Kirby's Epic Yarn and those are just the ones I can see without moving too much.

Let me be a lesson about the dangers of voluntarily spending too much time with other people.

EDIT: *Guess I could use Dolphin, anyone know if it works well?

It works fine in Dolphin. Go that route if you don't care about Steam achievements.

Otherwise just get it on Steam and finish it, it's a one-day or a week at max game if you're good at shooting in the knife, melee attack, knife knife knifing until you get enough ammo and weapon power to shoot enemies in the face until they get parasites to then shoot in knee, melee attack, knife knife knife combo again.

RE4 is japan's greatest achievement.

Gamecube version > all.

Gotta take Wii over GC- despite the minor visual downgrade, you get the extra content from the PS2 version, plus you can play it with a GC controller too.

Extra ps2 content is dog shit aside from costumes.

What's worse about the HD versions? I've only played the GC game.

Nothing wrong with HD versions. I've played ps3 and 360 versions extensively. Controls take getting.used to compared to gc and wii versions but once you do it is groovy.

I don't think he was implying HD versions are flawed just that he hasn't played them. I've played all versions of RE4 except og PC and ps2 is the only real bad choice. No matter what version, you still get best game ever.

The game is broken with the wiimote, but I love the knife waggle.

Why are we talking about wii and gc versions when the HD versions exist?

Minor visual downgrade compared to...? The GC version?

Have no clue what bork is talking about. The major hook of the wii version is that it has gc version visuals with ps2 content.

Yeah. Even the PS2 stuff saw a slight bump since it used GC assets for some things.

That's the reason I was asking, when numerous people on thebore call the Gamecube version definitive even though ps3/360 versions exist, I thought there is something wrong with them.

And the old PC version based on the PS2 version.
