Their meatball sub is delish. I usually just go with the Hook & Ladder, tho.

Nearest one to me is in Trenton... we have a Fireside Deli that's really good though. Actually we have delis all over the place so national sub chains are redundant.

Never been to Firehouse, and I miss Quiznos a lot. I miss making my sandwich monstrosities and getting fat on them while I watch Real Time.

There's a Quiznos only a two minute walk from my house in the ground flood of a condo building. Can't remember the last time I ate there.

I really like the Turkey Tom at Jimmy John's. [shrug]

Never seen a Firehouse. My favorite is Togo's. SO MUCH MEAT. DAT PASTRAMI.

My family owned a Blimpies btw. Nobody in Cali seems to know what the hell Blimpies is though and they have no advertising presence in the area. They eventually sold the franchise.

Bread is good but it's boring as shit. I can easily make their sandwiches at home. Plus they pull a Quiznos sometimes and jew you on toppings.
Wow.

Offensive.

Jimmy John's was jewing you on everything well before Quizno's got worse with the toppings.

Jimmy John's tastes like cheap garbage.  I thought the only appeal was that they deliver so you can eat a sub while drunk off your ass at a house party somewhere.

I remember Blimpie.  They dumped a shitload of lettuce into their subs and I hate lettuce, especially in excess.  So pass on that shit :yuck

There are a couple of Firehouse locations nearby.  I thought they'd be like Jimmy John's aka toilet tier subs.  I'll have to try them out sometime.

Also what the fuck happened to 90%+ of Quizno's locations?  It just seemed like they up and disappeared.  There's one location nearby that is still up but it almost disappeared overnight.

The cheapest I've ever seen with sandwich toppings haven't been Jewish (the local kosher deli is extremely generous with portions, although a bit pricey), it's the Indians at the local subway... last time I went (because it was the only thing nearby open) I asked for some jalapenos - they put 2 little peppers on... then asked for some more and they put one more on. It was ridiculous.

The latest lawsuits come three years after Quiznos agreed to a $95 million settlement with 6,900 class-action franchisees who said the company overcharged them for supplies and failed to provide adequate marketing support.

In the new round of lawsuits, store owners claim Quiznos continues to overcharge by forcing them to buy food at marked-up prices from a Quiznos-affiliated supplier.

"The hidden mark-ups, which are the keystone of Quiznos' scheme, have generated massive profits for Quiznos while simultaneously driving its franchisees to financial ruin," one of the lawsuits says. Most of the suits contain similar or identical language.

The lawsuits allege that Quiznos management increased the use of coupons for free and discounted food — costs that are absorbed by restaurant owners — in order to make the franchisees buy more food at marked-up prices from Quiznos' supply affiliate.

To be serious, to rap with you guys, to drop some deets, fucking with franchisees is pretty common:
http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052970204136404577211391192172770

Subway, Blimpies, etc. have also all had problems with selling way too many franchise licenses without any oversight and having them open up ten feet from each other. But not giving a shit because they still sell the equipment/supplies/etc.

More like 89/90 around when Simpsons aired.. My dad had a shit beat down Ford that would stop working everywhere so sometimes that'd make dinner hard so we'd go to blimpie. I remember the night we rented Batman.. Blockbusters had just opened and we got Blimpie. I miss when my dad and I did things together.

I just came from Firehouse.

I had the smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket and it was good, very much worth the trip.

Three homos were working behind the counter— they told me how it was started by actual firemen and it sounded erotic, we also kiki'd about how RiRi is a dumb bitch but we love her.

Fun times.
