They don't have to embrace English, because they're not as small as Sweden. Jävla kioskmongo.

I have a natural advantage with slavic languages but I'm just as lost when they write in cyrillic. It's mostly insults anyway. Everyone knows what cyka means, or however you write it. And if it isn't insults, they are just chatting to each other. I still play Blacklight Retribution on occasion an it's full of Yugoslavians and Turks.
I had French in school, four long years, but can barely tell a greeting from an insult. :/ I really don't see much Italian, Spanish or Dutch, come to think of it... The Dutchies probably all speak English, on account of being tiny and well educated, as the Swedes and other nordic countries.
Teamwork doesn't exist unless you happen to joing a team which speaks English or whatever else language dominates the round. It's just how it is. You can still call out objectives though or simple warnings. There's a chance that those are understood. In very old games (DoD: Source, CS) you'll see people naturally fit into whatever role they need to fill. You don't need to say much then. Helps that they are rather simple games when it comes down to it.
I wonder if the language problem is why TDM is so popular. No need to communicate to succeed.
