I'm about halfway through this (52%, 1 hour 20 mins) and I dunno. The Last of Us was my GoTY last year and this is good I guess, but like a lot of DLC for single player games, The Last of Us was a story game and the most enjoyment was moving forward seeing what happened next in the story and with these characters. Kind of like Gone Home with a 50 million dollar budget.
Since this is just a side story and I don't really care about it, as well as the DLC itself not bringing anything new to the table, it's just not doing much for me like most DLC to single player games. It looks great and some of the dialogue is fantastic, just...it adds very little to the narrative of Last of Us. Also, unlike that gaf thread, it shows me that despite loving The Last of Us, I'm not sure how much I'd want a sequel. I think the only way a sequel would work is if it was completely unrelated; different time period, different area of the world, all new characters and brings new concepts to the gameplay as well as an original story. Don't really want more related stuff, Last of Us is a finished and fantastic adventure, doesn't need more.
But maybe I'll change my mind on this DLC when I finish it, so eh.
Also TBF, I can't think of a single DLC expansion I've ever really liked to any game, though I still need to play Minerva's Den. They all feel like little short vignettes that are ok, but nothing special.
