This semester i lose weight!

Im gonna eat healthy and start working out. God knows I have plenty of time in my schedule.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

What kind of stuff should i be looking for when I eat. Calories and fat is easy, but what about sugar and salt? What is a good amount?

Is milk bad or good for you? Coffee?

When I go out to eat, what should I do?

If you want to lose weight you should avoid foods with a high glycemic load, like potatoes and other starchy foods.

Flame: I dropped 10 lbs just drinking 2-3 liters of water a day and cutting carbs to about 100 grams a day. You'll lose about 5lbs water weight as you detox with the water.

Also it helps to eat more often to get your metabolism used to CONSTANTLY metabolizing.

If you REALLY wanna lose weight beyond 10 lbs, you'll have to start exercising, which I dont ever feel like doing. Im one of those people who gains weight ONLY in the torso, so if I lost all my fat, id look like an aids patient. Sorta a lose lose, so I sit at about 165/170 most weeks.

I do exercize a litle. Once a week I play ultimate frisbee, I ride 2 miles to campus eveery day.
Im gonna add a few gym visits a week and i'll start doing sit ups everyday.

Im ok with my size, except for my belly.

If youre riding your bike 2 miles a day that should be fine, id worry about your diet if riding isnt putting a dent into your intake.

I dont eat cheetos. I lost 40 pounds when I lived in Japan in 2001 and it has slowly been creeping back to me.

I thnk it is putting a dent, but not fast enough. Multiple people who saw me last april and didnt see me until December said I lost weight. But obviously it wasnt enough.

Well if youre serious about losing weight its not a bad idea, even if its about a girl you might as well monopolize on this 'reason' for losing weight. Its very hard to get motivated otherwise.

I just ate two donuts, and drank a soda, for breakfast!

Now i'm about to go eat some steak and mashed potatoes.

All this and i still have low blood sugar, and low cholesterol  :lol

Everything about me is fine, I just fucking have allergies like mad. I have to take 10mg of loratadine a day and even then I still have some issues.

I didnt get tested for allergies. They did some blood work up when I went to the clinic and I guess the white cells that fight allergies were up nearly double normal. That was without any drugs in my system. They suspected the allergies did their part in my fatigue and ick feeling, but switched me off benadryl to loratadine since bena actually makes things worse in some people.

I have a cat, so im probably allergic to the dander which is gross when you think about it. Dried spit and skin flakes, yuck. Also whatever they pump through the air conditioners at work set me off too.

I didnt get an allergy test, dont plan on it either. I did my doctor visit for the decade already lol.

Go on a diet.

-Avoid processed sugars at all times
-Avoid more than 5g of saturated fat per day
-No trans fats
-Don't go overboard on the carbohydrates; increase your fiber intake

I would also strongly suggest cardio. Run for like 15-20 minutes a day 3-4 days a week. Build up to it if your body can't handle it.

The most important thing is to keep track of the calories you're eating.  This is more important, in the long run, than keeping track of the amount of fat/carb/whatever grams you're eating, or whether you're eating high-GI carbs, or EFAs, or lots of water, etc (not that those aren't good things to do).

I would also suggest cooking (if you cook) with olive oil opposed to butter or canola oil.

Get low fat or nonfat yogurt; Stonyfield Farms is the best. If you hate yogurt you can sweeten it with honey, or use a blender and make smoothies with cherries or something. Yogurt is really good for you. It certainly helps my metabolism and digestive system, it's been a key part of my diet.
