I'll contribute if it increases the likelihood of a Blue Chips sequel crowd funding campaign

I feel like we live in the alternate reality where people keep reviving things that really should've stayed dead.

Trailer looks like baby's first Source Filmmaker and lacks the weird charm the first game had.  Alas.

Do you have any interest in my revival of Scottie Pippen's Slam City?

Did ANYONE ask for this?

I'm sure there was a few seconds between October of 1994 and this post where I thought, "A new Shaq-Fu might be interesting."

It's weird; is EA even associated with this?

A friend of mine used to do a lot of EA's packaging for them, right when the original Shaq-Fu was being developed. Everything was going great until Shaq showed up at the mo-cap session, when it turned out Shaq doesn't know any martial arts. My friend is a black belt and instructor, so he is also listed as Shaq's instructor in the credits. :lol

No, because the characters have fully-rendered feet.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-06-shaq-fu-a-legend-reborn-scores-USD450k-funding-goal
Quote
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has managed to beat its crowd-funding goal on the campaign's final day and secure a release for PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
Quote
The game's Indiegogo campaign hit its target last night with just hours to spare, and after a couple of last-minute perks were added (someone donated $4000 to have lunch and a game of basketball at Shaq's house).

Six people paid $250 to receive a personalised voicemail from Shaq, while another person paid $20,000 to eat a meal with Shaq at a local restaurant (he'll even pick up the tab).

Think that's expensive? Someone paid $35,000 for Shaq to travel to their party and play a DJ set (plus get a copy of the game, t-shirt and poster).

This.

Mutant League Football was an actual very good game that failed its kickstarter. And instead something shitty like this will probably make it.

edit: didn't realize I was responding to a post over a year old.

Looks like they went from "updated Def Jam Vendetta meets Image" as an art style, to "Sacred Citadel" -- is it the same studio?

It's the same, same logos/music/etc. too in the trailers. The screenshots released over a year ago don't look too different:

Man, I'm looking at the stuff from 0:38 onward in that video, and it doesn't look like that shot you're showing.

"A Legend Reborn is a safe entry to the beat-em-up genre. It’s pretty basic but the writing is phenomenal. It’s also safe to say people might get offended with some of its humor. Not to mention the whole game is an apology letter for Nintendo Switch owners who purchased last year’s NBA Playgrounds before an online update was released. And in my opinion, this is the best way to play the game - for free."
