I don't agree with him about Democrats not wanting us to win in Iraq, but I truly believe there are people on the far left who would rather see us utterly fail in Iraq (IE, see Bush fail) than see the country become a success
Yeah, I want to see us fail in a conflict that future generations (and don't forget, our generation too) will be paying off for how long, who even knows.

There's a difference between wanting to fail and coming to the realization that failure on an embarrassingly massive scale has already occurred, and you can't do much of anything to fix it. I'm sick of Bush and countless other Republican hacks trying to put a band-aid on this lost war.
The John McCain of 2000 was a very admirable, respectable man with a lot of good things to say. The John McCain of 2007 is the one of the biggest, spineless, two-faced cocksuckers the GOP has seen in years. It's pretty tragic, what he has become.
