They play the fucking Star-Spangled Banner every day at noon :lol

We were standing in line to pay and all of a sudden this voice comes over the sound system "Please rise!" Everyone stops what they're doing and stands there with their hats in hand and hand over heart :lol

I was all  :comeon

food's good, but expensive as fuck and any sides are extra

It's okay for a change from all the NC-style BBQ joints around, but I won't be going back very much. I got a pulled pork sandwich and side, she got the brisket and side, and that shit was $20 without drinks.

Dude, there's military and firefighter shit all over that place. They donate a small (from what I read, not enough to brag about and borderline scammy) percentage of their profits to Wounded Warrior, and they've leveraged that as a business tactic to sling smoked meat. It's kind of offensive when you see it in person.

I'd go though. I've never been to a BBQ restaurant and I've been fiending to. There's a local one a few miles from my place, I'll have to check it out

My neighbor said invited me to a bbq cookout at his house next month, I'm definitely going to go.

Make a GAF thread about whether this is more offensive or less than Chick-fil-a people saying "My pleasure." Get 20 pages.

i found the pricing more offensive, tbh

$20 for a pork sandwich, hunk of brisket, little cups of baked beans and macaroni & cheese, smh

for that same $20 we could have gotten a tailgate special at smithfield bbq with fried chicken, bbq, sides, and hushpuppies

as for the star-spangled banner thing, customer base seemed around 50/50 tobykeithers and wtfers

i mean, god bless the usa and all, but how about just put a change jar by the register

$20 is a live and learn experience. That's the American way.
